The aluminum Geekoto X25 Defender 75" Tripod expands to this maximum height by unlocking the twist leg locks and extending the four-section legs along with the rapid center column. Splaying the tripod's legs out enables you to shoot at a minimum height of 24", but the center column is reversible, so you can get even closer to the ground. At the same time, the column can be positioned at a 90° horizontal angle so you can practically shoot directly over your subject. The 4.4 lb support includes an Arca-type ball head that has a load capacity of 22.04 lb. The supplied quick release plate attaches to cameras via its 1/4"-20 threaded camera mount. The leg with the foam grip is detachable, and it converts into a working 79" tall monopod including the ball head. To store or transport the tripod, fold the legs in the reverse to a compact 18.9" size and fit it in the included carrying case.

I highly recommend this tripod. I've searched high and low for an affordable professional video tripod and the Geekoto DV2 is "PURE PERFECTION"... Even though I've only had it for two weeks and taken it out on two filming assignments, it's been an amazing experience for me, and I'm looking forward to using it while filming my first independent feature.

Love this little tripod and the fact that I can invert the head or put it straight out 90 degrees for overhead product shots.

I wasn't sure if I needed to spend this much on my first tripod (as opposed to looking for a used one, for example), but having the option to position the central column parallel to the ground, aka create a boom arm, on this tripod has already proven invaluable.
It would be nice if the portion of the center column that pivots were longer so the camera could reach out further when taking aerial shots, but fortunately the crazy height of the tripod legs mean you can set them up high and straddle whatever you're shooting, to get the camera closer to being directly above.

Bought this to use with the
ikan PT4500-SDI Professional 15 High-Bright Teleprompter Travel Kit because of it's high weight/load carrying capacity. Was easy to setup and put the teleprompter on. Sturdy and surprised at the very smooth movement - although won't need movt. with the teleprompter. Tightening the ikan down: the screw is blocked on tripod but just pull it out and rotate it back - not intuitive but luckily figured that out. The carrying bag appears rugged enough, but there some plastic parts on the legs that hold it together when folded that can break easily - yes, I broke one. Overall very happy with the quality for the price.

How much is enough? I was tired of the cheap, though useful and I still use, tripods. I wanted one that was more stable and had some features. I was willing to spend more but decided to give this a try. It is great. I use it for my podcast, Vlog, videos for work. Definitely a step up. Plus- the arm was handy on a random product shoot. I ordered a second to replace another less expensive one.

I've bought tripods in the past but the GEEKOTO DV2 video Tripod is durable and easy to use. I love the height that it gives and it's not flimsy like other tripods I've had in the past. I definitely recommend any to purchase this tripod.

Very stable. Easy to use. My only complaint is a tiny one-it's a bit heavier than I imagined. Not a deal breaker by any means.

Everything I was looking for. All metal construction and what few parts are made of plastic don't pose any sort of concern. I love the versatility of this design and was surprised at how lightweight it is under the circumstances. I'm extremely happy with my purchase, especially considering the price point.

This is quite a tall tripod that should satisfy anyone's desire for height. The leg adjusters are a breeze to loosen or tighten without busting your knuckles. Getting it level takes a bit of fiddling especially if you do not want one of the full-extension settings but need something in the middle. We were looking for a head that could do live-action pans and tilts -- and this satisfied. Panning is as smooth as cream cheese on a bagel. And it's got adjustable drag, so bingo, we are happy. It's heavy enough to be solid and stable. It comes with a sturdy carry bag (not a stuffer sack) that is roomy enough and has a nice handle.
