Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the Compact Anamorphot Adapter 40133X work with this camera?

A: Not sure if the adapter will work. The camera does not have built in Anamorphic support.

Q: 2. I am interested in this camera and my use will be to record video to an external device. Which recording devices are compatible with this camera and take HDMI input?

A: The HDMI output is limited to 1080p and may be captured by a variety of our Hyperdecks and capture devices capable of 1080p.

Q: 3. If you hold the pocket 4K upside down, does the screen also goes upside down, or does it flip? It fits my gimbal better if I turn the pocket 4K upside down. Would be great!

A: This will be passed along as a feature request.

Q: 4. hey i know there is not anamorphic mode and this is the same sensor as gh5 but there will be in the future update? this is good feature for short film and small music video production...and if this is the same sensor this in somthing to consider we really love this new camera and this feature will be so amazing and open many options for us...

A: It's not the same sensor as the GH5, it's the same sensor is as the GH5s.

Q: 5. Work whith viltrox Ef-M2 speed booster?

A: We have no information on this.

Q: 6. When it says it takes stills, is it just video stills? I do real estate and use a gh4 for photos and videos. I imagine this wouldnt be as good for photos?

A: This camera is a high quality cinema camera that will take stills. It is not a stills camera that also shoots video.

Q: 7. Can I use any make dtap battery like the swit?

A: You should be able to adapt a dtap to the power connector.

Q: 8. What recording modes can be used with an SD card?

A: The list is fairly large and dependent on many factors. You can check the support section on the web site for the URSA Mini pro manual and support notes as the information will be similar.

Q: 9. The specs on here say that the supposbly max MB/s is 270 for 4k RAW 60fps, and the Sandisk UHS II has a max of 300 MB/s, therefor wouldnt that be enough to handle it? Or is that the Sandisk UHS II cards can only handle everything else, whereas only the Cfast 2.0 card can handle 4k RAW 60fps and 1080p 120fps. I also looked at the Ursa Mini Pro manual and it didnt clarify enough for me. A huge thanks in advance if you can break down what UHS II 300 MB/s and CFast 2.0 can handle.

A: 270 MB/s is the usual bitrate for losslessly compressed RAW not the max for 60 fps.Because its lossless compression, the file size per frame will vary depending on whats in the frame. Something with a lot of bokeh will compress to a smaller size than a deep focus shot of trees with a lot of detail.

Q: 10. I want to buy it. However, I have the Sony A7Sii with Zeiss Prime E mounts lenses. I wanna be able to use my Zeiss E Mount lenses on BMDPCC4K with an adapter without having to spend a lot money on glass again. Is there going be an adapter for the E Mount lens to fit on BMDPCC4K body? Or is someone going to make one for it?

A: No, E-Mount has a shallower flange focal distance(FFD) than MFT. Adapters will only allow you to increase the FFD and not make it shallower.

I bought a Pocket 4K as a second camera to my Eva1. After owning two previous Pockets and a Micro I was pleased to find how much better the 4K is to use. The dial on the body allows easy control of iris on lenses like the LUMIX 35-10 and Olympus 12-40, as well as the ability to dial in ISO and WB.
Also I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the audio is quite good, as good or possibly better than the Eva. Consequently Iâ€m using it much more than Iâ€d intended.
I wonâ€t even comment on the visual quality, thatâ€s a given with BM cameras.
My only complaint is I wish it had a LANC input so it would be more ergonomically friendly on a shoulder rig, because I make documentaries and handhold most of the time.

A camera that produces superb images and enough flexibility (USB C, XLR, DC in, Full size HDMI,cages) that it's weakness can be managed. Fun to use and a size that makes it easy to travel with. With a full copy of Resolve has there ever been such a bargain? For $1300 what is to regret?

The camera is very good. Love the picture quality. Records Blackmagic Raw and Pro Res. It's easier to use when you build a rig around it with a cage and some other accessories. Battery that it comes with is not enough and it doesn't charge in original canon battery charger.

First do not pay attention to most of the
bloggers they crave for audiences and will say anything. This a serious cinema camera for serious videographers-cinematographers.

Ordering, shipping, and receiving the Pocket 4K was hassle free. One thing to note is the included LP-E6 battery may not charge on Canon LP-E6 chargers. It will blink in Orange rapidly. A solution is to detach battery for 10 seconds and reattach. If the problem continues attempt two more times before stopping. Using an aftermarket LP-E6 charger seems to work. Satisfied with the experience and prompt processing.

This camera is simply amazing! Sure, the battery life is awful. Sure, the screen doesn't tilt and is not the best. Sure, you'll prob spend just about double to make it a fully functional setup but you will still be thousands less than the next comparable pure cinema camera. This camera is light, amazing in low light, and it gives you beautiful images that have this unique flavor.

We're a small church and we were looking for a camera to record weekly sermons and also shoot promotional vids for events we organize. The quality of the video is SO beyond our old Handycam!

Also, Davinci Resolve Studio 16 is an AMAZING program—I'm just scratching the surface of all we can do with it!! Considering all it can do, it was a steal!!
