Covering short- to medium-telephoto focal lengths, the silver XC 50-230mm f/4.5-6.7 OIS II from FUJIFILM is a 76-350mm-equivalent zoom suitable for working with a range of distance subjects, from portraits to sports. Its optical design includes one aspherical element and one extra-low dispersion element, which help to reduce a variety of aberrations in order to produce a high degree of sharpness, clarity, and color accuracy. A Super EBC coating has also been applied to individual elements to control flare and ghosting for increased contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. Complementing the optical design is a 3.5 stop-effective image stabilization system, which minimizes the appearance of camera shake to benefit shooting handheld. Additionally, a stepping AF motor provides fast and quiet focusing performance and a rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Telephoto zoom is designed for FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 76-350mm equivalent focal length range.

One extra-low dispersion element is used to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range.

One aspherical element controls distortion and spherical aberrations, which helps to improve sharpness and realize more accurate rendering.

Super EBC coating has been applied to individual elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.

Stepping motor affords fast and quiet autofocus performance that benefits both stills and video applications.

Optical image stabilization minimizes the appearance of camera shake by 3.5 stops to better enable handheld shooting with slower shutter speeds.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality to benefit the use of selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

Q: 5. If one were buying this as a kit would it be better to get the 18-45 pz or the 18-55 lens? This coming from a beginning photographer who wants into the fuji system.

A: The Fujifilm XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS lens would be the better option with improved image quality, a brighter aperture, and offering full-time autofocus capability. That being said, if you are on a budget, the FUJIFILM XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ Lens is still a good option, and both lenses would be compatible and would be standard zoom lenses for typical everyday usage needs.

I like many features of the X-T30 including the manual controls and the Drive function on a dedicated dial. Like many others I frequently pushed the Q button by mistake. I disabled it in the menu system and reconfigured the Fn button to access the Quick menu items. It seems that you can do most anything with this camera, but I think it's too much. This is at the lower end of the X cameras, bought primarily, I suspect, by people relatively new to interchangeable lens camera. If that assumption is accurate, they will get lost in the myriad ways to use and configure this camera. My eyes aren't the best, so I'm grateful for auto focus and focus peaking, but I'm very happy to select shutter speed, ISO, and aperture manually. Not because I'm a professional photographer (definitely not) but because I understand those controls and know how to use them. Once other functions are put in auto mode I have no idea what decisions the electronics have made. Similarly, the very detailed menu system is wonderful for advanced photographers, but most of them will buy X-T3, X-T4, or the newer medium format cameras. Too many choices lead to confusion for amateurs. So the Quick menu is a good idea, but even that requires choices many would rather not make (or don't understand). The last thing I would want Fuji to do is turn this into a point-and-shoot, but I think they would be wise to provide a simplified menu system that most amateurs could navigate without referring to a 300 page manual.

I’ve had it for a little over 2 months now, and I enjoy this camera more than any other mirrorless camera I’ve owned, would definitely recommend keeping this as a backup travel camera, but works just as well as a primary camera

This setup turned out to be very hard to find (camera was on back order for 2 months). When it finally arrived B&H overnighted it to me straightaway and everything is as described.

I have had the camera for a few months now. Since getting this camera I have not used my X-T2 that much. X-T30 has all the feature and the image quality I need for my work. I am a Pentax K1 owner with plenty of Pentax glass who has not touched the K1 for a while now. I just finished a video shot in 1080/60P and I am beyond thrilled with the results. The last video I shot (I am more of a still than video guy) was with a Sony A6000 and this X-T30 is way ahead in quality and ease of use. The touch screen to focus and start the videos is a great feature. I can go on all day how great this camera is... and considering the price point, it is a no brainer.

Received my Fuji about three days following my internet order. It was everything as advertised. The price was great, ordering was silk, shipping was fast and free. Looking forward to my next order. Probably the 18-55 zoom lens.

A powerful tool to create images. Takes some work to understand the interface but the photographer is rewarded with a finely crafted camera. It actually has more features then I thought of to make a image that is special and satisfying. I highly recommend this camara. It reminds me to my Pentax ME But a higher version. A modern camera

I am relatively new to the photography world and honestly my photography vocabulary is not yet developed.

What I can say about this camera is that I absolutely love it.

Even as a new and amateur photographer, I found that locating menu options and settings is very easy and intuitive. I have rarely referenced the camera's manual but have taken a crash course on the camera basics (aperture, ISO and shutter speed).

The 18-55mm kit lens appears to exceed my expectations of picture quality which to me are sharpness and color. Basically the pictures I get out of the x-t30 are far superior to any smartphone I've owned so far.

My only concern is that I find it difficult to hold the camera because it is small. I have mitigated this issue by buying a 3rd party grip which has completely resolved this small ergonomics challenge.

I am looking forward to growing and learning more about photography.
