Celestron T-ring For Canon Ef-mount Cameras

The Celestron T-Ring for Canon EF-Mount Cameras allows you to use an EF-mount camera to capture photos with your Celestron telescope. The T-ring attaches to the lens mount of your camera, securing via a sturdy bayonet flange that locks in place just like a lens. Then you can attach the other side of the T-ring to your telescope. A Celestron adapter (sold separately), such as the Celestron T-adapter, will be required to do this. It's the optional adapter that will secure to your telescope, and the T-ring will then thread onto the adapter. The Celestron adapter you choose depends on the type of photography you wish to do.
The T-ring is made of black-anodized aluminum. The internal surfaces are blackened and glare-threaded to provide the highest contrast. The T-ring has a ribbed surface that allows you to securely grip it when threading or unthreading the ring. The T-ring should be used with compact DSLR/mirrorless type cameras only. Larger cameras would be too big to attach to your telescope.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. used with Rebel cameras do I also need an EF-S to EOS adapter?
A: Nope! This will work with EF and EF-S cameras without an adapter. You will only need another adapter if you have the mirrorless line of Canon cameras, the EF-M.
Q: 2. What material is this T-mount made of?
A: aluminum?
Q: 3. what is the difference between EOS and EF lens?
A: The manufacturer should have use the term EF to denote the adapter correctly rather than EOS which is the name of the camera which uses the EF mount.
Q: 4. Will this work with the Sky Watcher Esprit 150 EDE?
A: The Celestron T-ring is 42mm. You need a 48mm T-ring for that telescope, and probably some spacers to get the back focus right.
Q: 5. Is this mount the same as a T2 adapter used to connect a after market lens mounted on a OM 1 camera to a Nikon D3300?
A: I bought th e T-Mount to mount a Celestron spotting scope sight tube to my Nikon DSLR. The adapter is threaded on one side and f-mount on the other.
Q: 6. Will this work w/ a D750?
A: Yes. It will work for any F Mount. Works with my D600.
Q: 7. I have a friend with a Celestron AstroMaster 130EQ Reflector Telescope and I have a Canon Rebel T3i. Will this work to join those two items for eclipse photos?Do I need anything else for that purpose? If possible, can you confirm the diameter of the main lens on the Celestron is 130mm like the model # indicates?
A: As stated above you will need a T-adapter to go between the T-Ring and the telescope. You need to know whether the telescope accepts 1.25in or 2in eyepieces to know what size T-Adapter to get. The T-Ring is camera specific so you are good there. The T-Adapter adapts the T-ring to the telescope. Don't forget the appropriate solar filter. You can only use the telescope and camera during totality without the solar filter. The solar filter must be in place outside totality or you will destroy the camera, your eye or both.
Q: 8. What is the size of threads 49mm or 52mm? I need 52mm to canon EF mount ! Thanks
A: A T mount is M42, it is not the traditional threading, it is meant to attach to a Canon camera and then attach it to a telescope or other T mount optic.
Q: 9. Follow-up Question: how does it attach to the scope? Does it come with set screws?
A: This T-ring attaches to your Nikon-F mount body in place of the lens. Ti mounts on to the camera just as your lens did. I should attach to a "camera adapter" mounted on the specific make and model of your telescope or spotting scope.
Q: 10. Does anyone know if this adapter is compatible with Celestron's CPC Deluxe 1100 HD Computerized Telescope? I'd like to use it with my Nikon D800e
A: This adapter is compatible with the Celestron CPC Deluxe 1100 HD Computerized Telescope.
