The plate attaches to the stabilizer arm, and then you can secure it around your right wrist with the integrated hook-and-loop fasteners. The stabilizer arm will then move along with the movements of your hand.

It is possible to run in this vest however we wouldn't recommend it until you've gotten very familiar with how it limits your movements and shifts your center of gravity.
