Q: 1. Hi. I want to remove the Camera/Umbrella Bracket from time to time to put on some sort of extension pin that is threaded at both ends to connect to my Small HD 702 bright monitor. The pin on the manfrotto 244 is a 1/4' thread. My small HD monitor is 1/4'' thread too. Is there any type of extension pin that is threaded at both ends that is out there? Any help is appreciated. A: Hi Everyone. Thank you all for your feedback. I just purchased a great solution form B&H 1 Kupo Baby 5/8'' Grip arm Pin 1 1/4''-20 Adaptor Spigot & 1 Impact 3/8' and 1/4'-20 Adaptor Spigot. All works perfect & give me around 5 extra inches of sturdiness!

Q: 2. After having received this device unassembled I now do not know how it fits back together and the instructions say absolutely nothing about assembly. There are a number of washers and discs and a long screw. I imagine the screw holds the arms together, but I do not know the proper assembly of the washers, knobs or discs. I am not pleased with this purchase already. Please help.?

A: The RC2 quick release on this Magic Arm can be removed if needed.

A: If the intent is to use the arm to hold a camera but with the ability to use a clamp on both ends, then you would actually need the Manfrotto 244 Variable Friction Arm With Camera Bracket, B&H # MA244. Please see the following image.

A: It is not Arca Swiss compatible. It is a proprietary Manfrotto release.

A: You will need to buy Impact 3/8" to 3/8" Adapter Spigot B&H # IMCA115 to mount your head on the arm.

A: I use a manfrotto super lamp on the bottom so you would have to see if theres a thread on the super lamp that would screw on top of your tripod

I bought this to use for teaching demonstrations, and I couldn't be happier. It's sturdy and so easy to adjust. I can literally put the camera wherever I want it or need it to be. 5

I bought the Magic Arm to hold various devices such as reflectors, flashes, clamps on my Manfrotto 055XPRO04 tripod. I also bought an assortment of adapter spigots, and a Kupo mini flex arm with alligator clip. The tripod has a female socket that allows an adapter spigot to attach the arm. The fit is strong and stable such that when the arm is tightened, the free end shows virtually no play at all. The various spigot adapters allow me to attach my Nikon SB-600 flash and position it with great flexibility. Using the flexible Kupo, I am able to hold various reflectors in position. Other adapters, e.g., one for mounting an iPad to the tripod is easy. This is an excellent product. 5

I occasionally use this with a Z6 with 24-70/2.8 and when paired with the Manfrotto Super clamp it holds it like a champ! Yes, it's expensive, but in my opinion the quality, ease of use and weight capacity is worth the price of admission. 5

This is useful, strong, and has the holding power to hold pretty much anything you may need provided you have the right accessories. I use mine to attach reflectors to a light stand when space is limited and it works. You can also use it for mounting your laptop to a light stand or camera too. 5
