Rosco Fluorescent Lighting Sleeves/Tube Guards are a very reliable and cost-effective system for easy control of tough lighting scenarios- especially under fluorescents. In addition to the financial benefits of the sleeves, they protect against the potential disaster of glass shattering by containing the lamp within the end caps.

Rosco sleeves are constructed of a solid polycarbonate tube within which is held the specific filter. The choice of filters and combination of filters is endless - there are complete Roscolux, Cinegel or E-Colour color filter lines - something for every venue, every photographer, every cinematographer.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this item be used with a Sony UTX-P1 transmitter

A: This plug-on transmitter will work with this mic but does not provide phantom power. The mic must be powered by one AA battery.

Q: 2. Can this shotgun mic be used with a Sony UTX-P1 wireless transmitter?

A: This plug-on transmitter will work with this mic but does not provide phantom power. The mic must be powered by one AA battery.

Q: 3. What's the meaning of off camera mode on one of the picture? Does it mean it can be used handheld?

A: I'm not sure what they mean - but they include an adapter for an XLR plugin which can be used with portable digital recorders and they have an adapter for the 3.5mm plug which can plug into the DSLR models that have a microphone plug. One is on camera and one is off camera - so maybe that's what they mean? You cannot capture audio without plugging it into some type of recording device - it is not a stand alone microphone/recorder.

Q: 4. What are the differences between the XM-88 and the cheaper XM-55, and would it be worth the extra $25 for the XM-88?

A: The XM-88 offers wider frequency response, and two cardioid patterns,. It is also longer for a more directional pick-up.

Q: 5. How good is the XLR to 3.5mm cable? Could this potentially work with the Zoom H1 without too much hiss?

A: Hi the XLR to 3.5mm cable works, but you would want to replace it straight away. Very little cost to do this, couple of Dollars. The mic works well and you can phantom power it (48v), or runs a very long time on one AA battery. I use a Zoom H1 and had no problems. There is a design fault with the mic switch. I have bought three and use all of them but the switch disintegrates if you don't take lots of care with it.Best to run it on phantom power then you don't need to operate the switch. Of course not possible with a Zoom H1

Q: 6. Does this light have PD charging?

A: Yes this does have power delivery via USB-C.

Q: 7. can this microphone be used for a canon rebel T5?

A: The XM88 can be used with any camera that features a 1/8 mic input jack. The T5 has no mic input available. The T5i camera does have an input and is compatible.

Q: 8. Which one is the best? This or Rode VideoMicro?

A: The XM-88 is a more versatile mic, in that it has both cardioid and super cardioid pick up patterns, so you will be able to be a bit farther from your subject than the VideoMicro. It also takes a battery to power it, so it can be used with pretty much any camera that has a mic input, while the VideoMicro does not and it relies on the camera's plugin power.

Q: 9. Vidpro XM-88 can pick up the sound of small group of choir (10 to 20 people) in small church? Should I use two XM-88 for picking up short and long distance choir?

A: For most show choirs up to 24 voices we typically set up two shotgun microphones about 6 feet in from the edge of the choir on a 24 to 30 ft stage and 4 ft in front. We set the mic height at 7 ft to 8 ft angled in slightly from the sides to capture half the singers with each mic.Position two mics equidistant from the choir placements. Experiment with the distance from the choir and the separation of the mics in relation to each other.

Q: 10. How long is the XLR cable that comes with the kit?

A: The XM88 ships with 2 XLR cables. A 26 ft cable for pole use, and a 16 cable for on camera mounting.

I purchased the XM-88 for us with my Panasonic AG-AC160A and I must say I was very impressed. Audio quality is excellent, phantom or AA compatibility is really useful and the kit includes EVERYTHING you'll need to operate the microphone. Great buy!

Bought the mic because I run a Cabaret space and we video our shows the mic plugs directly into the camera giving me a nice even sound. Would be great if it had on on indicator but not necessary. I am very happy with my purchase.

In all sincerity I not expecting much definition. If the VST effect is used to enhance the frequency range we have a result that simply has nothing to do with the built-in microphone of a Dslr camera. Maybe use it with a pole is more interesting than attached to a camera because if you toutch the tripod head you with ear it on the audio track.

Before purchasing this item I was somewhat skeptical because of the reviews I've read. However I've used this product and found that the device and the mechanics of it worked rather well. Wires weren't pulled out when I detached my cables from the bottom. I've come to realize it's the person mishandling the device rather than the device itself. It's a great item for a great price.

Needed a decent shotgun mic for lower budget shooting. Im not a big pro company so budget was the key word. Read lots of reviews and this seemed like a good choice, although i was concerned about the few reports of high signal to noise ratio (hissing) when i first plugged in the mic and put the headphones into my dvx200, i heard the hiss and was a little upset. But, after, adjusting some settings in the camera and on the mic i was able to get the right combo to make it completely go away. Its a big mic with a lot of cool accessories. If youre on the fence i say do it.
