The USB to Canon LP-E12 Dummy Battery Cable from GyroVu allows you to use an optional USB power source to power devices that use a Canon LP-E12 battery, devices such as the Canon Rebel SL1, EOS-M, EOS M2, and EOS M10 cameras.

Please be aware that your USB power source must provide at least 2 amps of output (3A recommended). Generally, the USB ports on computers deliver only 1A. Many common USB power banks and power adapters are also limited to 1A. Compatible USB sources include the GyroVu High-Power 3.1 Amp USB Power Supply, High-Capacity 30,000mAh Power Bank, and High-Capacity 40,000mAh Power Bank with 110V Inverter. The cable length is 40".

A: This model with work with any power bank. But depending on the device you will be powering with LP-E6 it might require certain power output. Low current output power banks will not have enough current to power some cameras or monitors. Q: 5. Will this work with the canon m50? I need the battery door to be closed though.

A: The GyroVu D-Tap to Canon LP-E12 Dummy Battery (30") will work with the Canon M50, but it would require that the battery door remain open or be removed entirely. Unfortunately since the M50 doesn't have a power input, using a dummy battery and keeping the battery door open is the only way to power the camera with an external power source.

Q: 6. Is this item compatible with a Vixia HF R800?

A: The GyroVu USB to Canon BP-828 Dummy Battery Cable (40") is not compatible with the Vixia HF R800 Camcorder.

Q: 7. Will this work with the RP model?

Q: 8. If I don't have a D-Tap Source, Can I solder in a good 12v or 5v adapter on the D-Tap End and use this to power my camera directly for the wall?

A: We are not aware of that being possible with this product.

A: It should work providing that you will use power bank with 2amp USB output. A: Yes this should be able to power an external monitor such as the SmallHD 502. Just ensure that the power block/source you use has the proper voltage output to power your monitor.

I should not have had any trepidation about this GyroVu power supply for my EOS M50. I think the big difference for this brand is the 3.1 Amp power to the supplied cable and converter. This combination all works perfectly. The usual superb ordering and shipping service of B&H needs no comment. Thank You. 5

So far, so good! I've had it for a couple of weeks, and used it twice for a couple of hours (Zoom meetings) each time. I set it u, and completely forgot about. It's been working fine! The rechargeable battery that I was using before would punk out after about 90 minutes, and it was ANNOYING. This is way better. 5

This is making my life so much easier when doing astrophotography! The cable is too short, so you will need an extension cord. I was worried it was a non-Canon product, but heck, it works with no issues! 5
