Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does cannon Rc-6 wireless remote control work for all digital Canon brand PowerShot SX540 camera's?

A: No there is no wireless remote for the SX540. You can use the built in wifi to use your cell phone or tablet as a remote.

Q: 2. Can this remote start recording videos?

A: Yes it does. I use this remote to start and stop recording videos with my 5DM3 and 5DM4 when they are mounted on my DJI Ronin. Don't forget: in your camera settings, go to Drive Mode , then select Self-Timer:2sec/Remote

Q: 3. Does this work with 2 Canon 5DS R Mark III cameras? Yes, I have two cameras, do I need 2 of these, or one RC-6 wireless can control both of my cameras?

A: One will control both cameras as long as the sensors are in range.

Q: 4. will this work with the canon rebel T100/EOS 300D?

A: This remote is not compatible with the Canon Rebel T100.

Q: 5. Does this remote do time lapse as well?

A: No. This is a single shot shutter release only.

Q: 6. Will this work with a Canon powershot SX720HS?

A: This will not work with the Canon PowerShot SX720 HS.

Q: 7. Does it first focus with the half-press?

A: One correction I want to make, when putting my camera (5D mkIII) In Auto exposure mode, the camera will engage AF when pressing the remote control, and then take the image. When using Av mode however, the AF was not being engaged in my prior tests. So, this gives you the choice of pre-focusing prior and make sure the AF does not get done again, so have it done at the same time when pressing the R/C.

Q: 8. I need to record some video on my 70D using a prompter and remote. Is this the unit I should purchase?

A: Yes it will. Once you push to button towards your camera that's on a tripod it will take the picture or start your video if you are in the mode. I have an 80D Canon and it works fine with it and the 70D. Just make sure it's pointing at the camera and you can be several feet away, like 15 I think.

Q: 9. Hi! How can I use this without a delay? (Mark IV) Thanks!

A: Set your camera to remote function but not 2 second delay. Page 280 of the online pdf manual. Set the timer mode so that you only see the remote symbol with the clock but no number.

Q: 10. IS IT COMPATIBLE WITH CANON 6D MARK II?

A: Yes.

For the size and price, the capabilities of this thing are truly amazing: start/stop video, remote shutter with or without delay, and bulb function better than a bulb (click on, click off). And, it all works without needing a separate receiver. I was initially concerned that it would be finicky given the line of sight requirement to the camera's sensor, but it seems to work well at a variety of angles. You can also bounce the signal off nearby walls. Good stuff!

This wireless remote has been a perfect accessory for my Canon EOS 6D. I have recently used it for a highly successful series of full moon shots. With the camera mounted on a tripod, it worked flawlessly from tight angles at 10 to 15 feet. I highly recommend the Canon RC=6 Wireless Remote Control as an inexpensive, very easy to use, indispensable accessory!

The RC-6 remote works great with my Canon EOS SL1 camera. It allows me to take family photos with me in them. It also allows me to take photos of wildlife on a tripod without camera shake.

I use this for long exposure photography but it can be used in many other ways. I like that it comes with a case that you can attach to your camera strap so its always handy. It also has a place on the remote that you can slip chain through to secure it that way
