I chose this size because my 48 requires a boom C-Stand that is hard to carry on location. The 36 will work for me on a regular light stand and works really well for individual portraits and groups of 2 or 3. I like it. 5

This softbox is my first, and I'm absolutely loving it. The construction of the rod and umbrella material feels really sturdy, giving me confidence that it'll last a long time. Setting it up is a breeze – just unlatch the Velcro holding the umbrella in its collapsed position, expand it, and push down on the center ring to secure the umbrella's shape to the center rod. No need to fuss with attaching rods individually to the Bowens mount, unlike other octa boxes. However, the only thing I'd note is that detaching the rod during breakdown can be a bit tricky. I wish they had included some kind of latch to make it easier, instead of having to pry the ring apart from the rod. I was concerned about breaking the rods or cutting my hand, so I started using a microfiber towel to help when unlatching the center ring. I considered getting the Aputure Light Dome III, which is the same size (36), mainly because of its new feature for quick setup and breakdown using the latch system on the Bowens mount. But I'm really happy I went with this one over the Light Dome III because it's 53% cheaper and just as fast to set up. If you grab it on Black Friday, you might even snag a free grid, making it an outstanding value for the price. 5

The soft box comes with a useful carry bag, 2 diffusers and a deflection plate to spread the light and reduce the hot spot. Set-up (and take down) is quick and is made of nice material and seems sturdy and of good quality. Light is uniform across the soft box when using the deflection plate. I bought the Bowens mount and important to note that you cannot swivel the light once mounted as with other softboxes. 5

Very happy with the build quality and speed or ease of use of these boxes. They come together really fast which for location portrait work matters a lot to me. Well worth the premium over the cheaper options with a traditional Speed ring in my opinion—of course it helps I got these on sale! 5

The 12x36 are easy to assemble and does not take up much space. I got a couple and they get much use for fill, rim light or even boomed as hair light. Love that mine came with a grid as well. 5

This is a great modifier. It is so easy to set up and tear down. It makes it very easy to control the light for portraits or head shots. It has nice fall off and the disk that goes in the middle makes it a large beauty dish as well. Overall it seems well made and is a great design. If you're in the market for something like this for your photography I can recommend this one. Happy Photographing. 5
