A: Unfortunately, the answer is "no." The thickness of the silicone cover on the base and LH side misaligns the access doors as well as the screw hole on the base. Instead, I use a quick release tripod plate on the base only. To shoot vertically, I use the ball head on the tripod.

A: Yes there is room for a tripod plate on the camera with the super cool cover . I loved it so much I purchased another cover for my 7dII
