Vienna Symphonic Library Vienna Smart Hits is a virtual instrument that offers a collection of inspiring hits, braams, risers, swells, and sub-booms specially created for epic film and game scoring, trailer music, and sound design.

The engineers as VSL dug deep into the company's multimillion sample database of released and unreleased organic sounds to select the most compelling ones. These organic sounds were bent, mangled, twisted, distorted and then blended with electronic sounds to create effects that deliver maximum impact to your score.

The software is compatible with Mac and Windows, and operates in AU, VST, and AAX formats.

  • Organic source sounds include the bass drum from Synchron Percussion I for low-end hits, reverse cymbals for swells, the Yamaha CFX piano for shimmering transients, solo violin glissandos for risers, brass run-ups for short risers, sforzato and sustained sounds from Vienna Dimension Brass for braams.
  • Reversed sounds are used for swells, a heavily distorted Vienna Konzerthaus Organ for braaams, and Taiko drums for sub-boom rumble.

  • In addition to the organic component created with symphonic sounds, various electronic sound sources—including wavetable and FM synthesizers—were used to create additional layers, using their extensive routing and envelope modulation capabilities.
  • The synth sounds were further treated with voicing and detune functions to adapt them spatially to the original sample recordings.
  • Additionally, all the sounds were tweaked and shaped using a wide variety of manipulation techniques, with a finishing, mastering touch before being included in the Vienna Smart Hits collection.

  • Five sound categories: Hits / Braams / Risers / Swells / Sub-Booms.
  • All sounds except Sub-Booms include two variants—regular with sounds reinforced by synthesizer components, and organic using only analog VSL instruments.
  • Braams, Risers, and Swells are available with root key mapping (one slot contains all sounds on its respective key) and tonal mapping (one slot contains the same sound mapped chromatically over an octave).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. When using the HT-A7000 with the X95J Acoustic Center Sync do the speakers from the TV and the soundbar work together, or does the TV become the only center channel?

A: The Sony HT-A7000 500W Virtual 7.1.2-Channel Soundbar BH #SOHTA7000 works together with the television: Even More Immersion with BRAVIA Acoustic Center Sync When connected to a BRAVIA TV with Acoustic Center Sync using the supplied cable, both the soundbar and the TV become the center speaker in your home cinema system. This enables sound to precisely match what's on the screen for a truly immersive experience. With Acoustic Center Sync, you'll hear dialogue from exactly where the character is standing in the scene. Action and sound are precisely aligned so your viewing becomes much more immersive. With an integrated UI, soundbar settings automatically appear on the BRAVIA Quick Settings menu for easy control of sound modes, sound field, and volume.

Q: 2. Can you pair (via bluetooth) more than one Sony SA-SW5 7.1" 300W Wireless Subwoofer?

A: Only one subwoofer can be paired with the Sony HT-A7000 500W Virtual 7.1.2-Channel Soundbar BH #SOHTA7000 at a time.

Q: 3. will this work transforming a line level coming from a mixing board to a Magewell USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus?

A: No, the Hosa MIT-129 will not convert a line level signal to mic level and the connectors on this adapter are the wrong type. The XLR output on a mixer is male so you would need a female XLR connector on your cable or adapter and the mic input on the Magewell USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus is 3.5mm TRS, not 1/4". Since mixers typically have separate left and right output, you can use a line to mic attenuator cable like the Sescom SES-43DB-MZ2XJ 43 dB Pad DSLR Attenuating Line to Mic Level Cable - 18" (B&H # SES43DBMZ2XJ) which has left and right XLR female connectors to use for the output from the mixer and a 3.5mm TRS male connector for the mic input on the Magewell adapter. Additionally, the Sescom cable is designed specifically to convert line level signal to mic level.

Q: 4. Will I have a problem if I have a slanted ceiling?

A: Yes, with the room calibration done it shouldn't be an issue.

Q: 5. Is this dual voltage?

A: The Sennheiser Ambeo soundbar AC input is 100 to 240 VAC, 50 / 60 Hz.

Q: 6. What mode does it start in when you turn it on?

A: It starts in high mode, then low and lastly strobe. To advance to the next setting. You must turn it off and then back on within about three seconds. If you wait longer it will default back to high. As the battery gets low on power it will start on high output and then automatically dim to low output.

Q: 7. Is the separate subwoofer necessary or are the built-in subwoofers good enough for a small (12x12) room?

A: According to the Sony website, it "Delivers high sound pressure for clear, deep bass. This has been achieved by expanding the area of the diaphragm and the size of the subwoofer (X-Balanced Speaker Unit)." In this case it should work fine for a small room. Hope this helps.

Q: 8. Is this new or open box?

A: The Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar MAX 250W Virtual 5.1.4-Channel Soundbar (B&H # SEAMBEOSB) is brand new in the original manufacturer's packaging.

Q: 9. Can the Sony HT-A7000 sound bar be mounted to the TV without impacting sound quality?

A: The Sony HT-A7000 500W Virtual 7.1.2-Channel Soundbar BH #SOHTA7000 is not designed to be mounted directly to a television due to the up-firing speakers. The HT-A7000 has a total of 7.1.2 virtual channels: two up-firing drivers for overhead sound, two beam tweeters, five front drivers for wider virtual surround sound, and two built-in woofers for deep bass. With Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force PRO Front Surround, the HT-A7000 creates virtual surround sound that seems to come from all around you so you can fully enjoy the thrill of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

Q: 10. Does it support 120 - 240 v ?

A: The Sony HT-A7000 500W Virtual 7.1.2-Channel Soundbar BH #SOHTA7000 supports 120 VAC, 60 Hz only.
