I bought SACD 30n and MODEL 30 (18 months ago). Paired it with ADAM classic pencil MK3 speakers. After so many months of playing, I think this system should be totally burn in and is time to share some of my experiences. I like the design very much, luxury, simplicity and modern. Really enjoy the wide range of music formats, from CD, SACD to Hi-Res up PCM384kHz and DSD11.2MHz. It is so versatile. HEOS is convenience and user friendly, make my life easier and just control it with my mobilephone. Now, the most important things, the "SOUND". SACD 30n with MODEL 30 sounds warm with clear details. Background are quite with accurate soundstage imaging. It was so "LIVE" and will bring you to the actually recording spot. I never imagine music playback can be so "LIVE" before I get to played DSD128 and DSD256. It is another level of music listening to me. With SACD 30n, my old CD collections are new again when most of my CD sounds like SACD now. And the MODEL 30 Amp is powerful enough to fully filled my listening room. I really enjoy and satisfied with this 30 series. Thank you and Well done team Marantz!!!

I will try to be brief but helpful here as I really could wax adnaseum on this piece of gear for quite some time and never tire but I won't so hear goes the short review. Buy one. Now. Sell something to help pay for this but get one. Now that you have one, use very good interconnects to,hook up the player to your preamp or integrated. Don't go cheap because you will not hear what the Yamaha can do and I mean really do if you use sub-par or inferior quality interconnects. And use the balanced (XLR) outputs. Some people say it does not make a difference. Well, it does to my ears and they are not as good as they used to be and I still heard a difference between the XLR and RCA outputs. And please, use this player with good ancillary equipment. Cables, preamp, amp, integrated all need to be on a par if you are going to hear what this player is capable of. Give this player a good 60 hours at least to break in whether you believe in that or not. It sounds like poop out of the box. After a week of good play it transforms into one of the best CD playback pieces you will ever experience, bar none. Voices are so real it is scary, piano takes your breath away and the depth and width of the soundstage makes one feel they are about 10 to 15 rows up from the performers. I feel that the Yamaha is as good, if not a little better in some areas (soundstage depth) than my Naim CD5 XS / Teddy Pardo combo, plus the Yamaha gives me the benefit of SACD. I will just briefly mention that I have never heard SACD sound as good as it does through the CDS 2100. So, in summation; buy one now, use the XLR outputs, give it time to break in, PLEASE use it with gear that this piece deserves, sit back and be prepared to have people ask you all the time you are listening while you are smiling so much, or maybe they will ask why your jaw is just hanging open. I know mine does every time I listen.

Bought this to replace my 8-year-old Rega Apollo CD player and the outboard Rega DAC. Both seemed to sound tired. After about a month of daily use, the Marantz SACD 30n is an amazing component. Build quality is first-rate. Bought for the single play CD capability and also have my 1993 Marantz CC65SE Carousel CD player connected to the 30n's DAC via the carousel's digital out. Can spin shiny discs all day on random play or listen to a single disc. Both options result in clear, beautiful music. Someone said in another review that the experience with moving to the 30n is like getting a new pair of glasses. You saw things before but now you see things (hear things) more clearly. Amazing. I have found a few internet radio stations that also sound amazing. Adagio classical radio in particular. I have not heard classical sound good on my system. The only nit to the 30n the remote control. It has serious heft to it and a quality feel, but you cannot easily read the tiny gold type against the black background and the buttons are recessed. If you're looking for a new CD player you will not regret this purchase.

Excellent all in one source. Built like a tank. It weighs 30 lbs. Nice metal remote control. HEOS is a very nice app. Excellent match with the Model 30 amp

Between HEOS and the ability to play CDs, it's a wonderful source of music.

it has a very quiet background , good scale & easy to listen for long . Has good choice of 2 filter ,one for little airy for instrumental music , other for a little close focus singer .The internal DAC does a fair job but my separate tube DAC which is just a little more alive in harmonic decay(perhaps little more distortion),little more resolving .Variable output is great directly connected to power amp opens up little more space.(the default remote setting is for amp use which cannot control vol.digitally . u Need to switch the remote to CD /SACD remote setting (press Enter +2 ).
has not try USB but the bluetooth 5.0 connection has much a lag (disappointment )don't match the lip sing on my SAm phone Fold2 .
Sound is subpar till I can get some equalizing from the app Will try headphone amp later. I bought this solely for SACD .I already have a stand alone CD transport .

I bought this CD player so can play my CDs , old CDs I have for years, also this is small so I don't need much room.
Pro: This CD sound good with Volume control, some music have hi gain, some have very little so this Volume control help a lot to adjust the gain you like.
cons: Because this CD player is not built for plug/play in home but to build for something else which are already have the wire harness, so be careful, you have to talk to the Salesman before place order.

My Marantz SACD 30n was delivered a couple of weeks ago. The first thing I noticed was how solidly and beautifully it is constructed and how perfectly it matches the Model 30 integrated amplifier. As for the sound, SACDs and well-recorded CDs sound terrific: neutral, open, crystal clear, and highly enjoyable (with warmth that the 6007 unfortunately lacks). Credit for the spectacular sound also has to go to the Model 30 amp and the very impressive Monitor Audio Silver 500 7G speakers. I highly recommend the SACD 30n to anyone who can afford its lofty price. My only disappointment is that it doesn't play CD-R discs: It plays the first few tracks and then goes silent. These same discs play with no issues in my brand new 6007 and 12-year-old 5003. I also want to give a shout-out to Olsen's Hi Fi in Lynnwood, Wash., for carrying excellent brands like Marantz, Monitor Audio, and Prima Luna. The staff is knowledgeable and very accommodating.
