Capture brilliant images at depths as great as 200' with your Nikon D780 DSLR in Ikelite's 200DL Underwater Housing, which features the Dry Lock Port Mount and a vacuum valve. An Ikelite bulkhead with a manual hot shoe connection enables reliable electrical triggering of optional external strobes via sync cords. The use of an optional TTL hot shoe and the Nikon TTL Converter will allow for TTL operation with compatible Ikelite DS strobes; non-Ikelite strobes will still work in manual mode only.

Ergonomic mechanical controls, including push buttons, dials, and levers, afford access to all essential camera functions. Built for durability, the enclosure is made in the USA from a corrosion-resistant polycarbonate and ABS plastic blend. It is white on the front, top, sides, and bottom, but clear in the back to allow you to monitor the O-ring seal and maintain your view of the camera's rear controls. The supplied aluminum tray with a left-hand quick release grip affords improved balance and handling while offering an attachment point for an optional lighting arm.

This housing ships without a required lens port and accepts various interchangeable dome and flat ports for a broad array of lenses. For full compatibility details, see the port chart. The DL port system accommodates lenses with large diameters and provides added security against leaks at the surface, thanks in large part to the included vacuum valve for checking watertight integrity before the dive. You'll need to pick up the required pump in order to remove excess air and create a vacuum.

  • Accepts all Ikelite Dry Lock (DL) dome and flat ports, allowing you to shoot with a wide variety of lenses
  • Zoom gears are available for many lenses
  • For complete compatibility details, see the port chart linked above
  • DL port system accommodates lenses with large diameters
  • Provides added security against leaks at the surface thanks to the included vacuum valve that helps you check watertight integrity before the dive
  • Removal of excess air to create a vacuum requires #47011 Pump with Gauge
  • DL mount can be removed and replaced by the older FL (Four Lock) port locks, though this change would be irreversible unless you send the housing back to Ikelite to have the DL mount installed again

Mirrorless is like electric cars, it's taking over where you want it or not. It's an evolutionary change but worth it, with a higher usable ISO, silent shooting in live view (only noise is the mirror clack when you turn it off/on) and 4K video output. Pictures are great and it overall is faster than my 750's. I haven't had it long enough to see how the shutter holds up--the previous failure point of the 750. I use the older D series lenses as they're built like tanks and lately have gotten very cheap. Sadly at the rate things are going this may be the last prosumer DSLR that Nikon will make, and it's made so little impression a lot of photographers don't even know it exists.

I debated upgrading my camera for a very long time. I knew I wanted to, but I was scared to pull the trigger due to the extra expense so I worked with what I had been using for years which was the Nikon D7200. I was ready to go full frame but again wasn't sure if I should since my camera was still going strong. Well, I took the leap, and WOW what a difference in quality and functionality! Now I kick myself for not taking the leap sooner. I am in love with this camera and it's so nice to have a touch screen. The autofocus tracking system is amazing even from a far distance it still kept up with my subject. Overall, Nikon is top-notch when it comes to DSLRs. I'm very happy with my purchase and I look forward to shooting again!

Probably my last DSL before everything goes mirrorless but this camera is worth it. As a long time Nikon DSL user, the immediate learning curve is quick. Very good layout. I was surprised by how light and actually small the body was. Everyone says mirrorless bodies are so much more compact but I don't find the D780 to be heavy or cumbersome at all. Besides needing a major upgrade in tech and going full frame, high on my list were focusing systems and low light capability. This camera does both very well. It's first real workout was shooting swimming at an indoor pool for my daughter's swim team. Low light and fast action, so this was a good test. The various focus options are excellent; with choices between focus areas, and tracking combined with shutter burst modes you are sure to get the money shot in most sequences. The focus system kept up with the swimmers, it was very fast. Low light handling has come a long way. Indoor pool lighting is horrible but at about ISO 800 I was able to get good exposure and speed. After the pool tests, I'm confident this camera will be able to handle anything outdoors or any other creative situations I throw at it. Regarding battery life, I shot heavy for two hours and the battery indicator might have moved one notch. I have one 64gig memory card which yields 1.2k exposures (raw). And to think there are actually dual cards slots so you have a ton of space to shoot. (I don't do video). The display screen is awesome for review and you can scroll through the many picture review options (depending on what you set in the menu) that we are all familiar with; histograms, highlights, focus, etc. The touch screen zoom is great for checking focus. I am looking forward to digging in a little more as time goes on but I can tell this camera will be great for some time to come and glad I finally upgraded.

I thought long and hard over the decision to buy another DSLR rather than go mirrorless. In the end my preference for the thru-the-lens non-electronic viewfinder, 2 SD card slots and the ability to use all the old F- mount glass won out. I just wish that Nikon would keep up the F- mount line as well as the new Z-mount - unfortunately, I'm afraid they will not. Oh well, there's enough F-mount glass out there to last me my lifetime.

I spent quite a bit of time researching full-frame vs mirrorless cameras. Ultimately, I chose the Nikon D780 full frame DSLR because of all the great reviews that I read, and I love it. The D780 has all the buttons in the right place. The AF-on eliminates the need for back button focusing because there is a dedicated AF-on button and it's in the back! In fact, the placement of an ISO button is positioned on top of the camera, next to the off/on button, which makes changing the ISO very convenient. Also, there are two slots for SD cards which is a must for me. It you are looking for a full frame DSLR, the D780 is the best choice with an affordable price.

I am very impressed with this full frame camera. This is my first full frame camera and I do own a Nikon D7500. The menu is pretty similar to by D7500 so the learning curve short. The camera build is exceptional and the camera has many capabilities. Focusing and frame rates are quite good and the grip is deep enough for my large and long fingers. The only drawback that I have is Nikon neglected to add the ability of a vertical battery grip. There is a non OEM brand on the market but you have to use an external cable so the grip communicates with the camera.

I would highly recommend this camera to someone who wants the best of still and video photography.
