The CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS from CyberPower is a mini-tower device with line-interactive topology that provides battery backup via sine wave output and surge protection for desktop computers, workstations, networking devices, and home entertainment systems requiring active PFC power source compatibility. It comes equipped with an output capacity of 1500 VA / 1000W, features an input voltage range of 88-144 VAC @ 57-63 Hz, Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to help correct minor power fluctuations without switching to battery power, and has integrated circuitry for EMI/RFI filters. An integrated color LCD panel, which tilts up to 22°, can be used to quickly confirm status and alerts, while a USB Type-C and Type-A port share 3.1A for charging portable devices such as mobile phones and tablets.

When running at half capacity, this UPS can power devices for up to 10 minutes. When running with a full load, it can power devices for up to 2.5 minutes. It can be recharged in around 8 hours and offers twelve total NEMA 5-15R outlets, six of which are equipped with battery and surge protection, while the other six are only equipped with surge protection. The surge-protected outlets can absorb up to 1445 joules for keeping your devices safe against surges and spikes. Other connections offered are a right-angle NEMA 5-15P input plug with a 45° offset and 5' cord, plus serial, USB Type-B, Ethernet RJ45.

This power supply is ENERGY STAR qualified with GreenPower UPS Bypass technology for reducing energy consumption and heat buildup to help save energy costs. Available as a free download is the PowerPanel Business Edition UPS management software, which requires minimal system resources and monitors the status of the UPS to ensure it is working properly. When a power outage does occur, this software automatically saves open files and powers down the system into hibernation mode. When your PC is running in hibernation mode, the power supply will offer a longer runtime. This CyberPower UPS provides a lifetime connected equipment guarantee of up to $500,000.

Supplies power long enough for equipment to properly shut down when utility power fails. Helps prevent loss of data and minimizes the component stress caused by a hard shutdown.

Diverts excess voltage away from sensitive electronic equipment during an AC power surge or power spike to prevent damage.

The UPS generates energy that is identical to, or cleaner than the utility company's power grid. Benefits include low total harmonic distortion, minimal electrical noise, and optimal line clarity.

Displays immediate, detailed information on the UPS battery and power conditions. The color display quickly alerts users to potential problems before they can affect critical equipment and cause downtime. Screen tilts up to 22° for easy viewing.

AVR increases the AC power and maintains a safe voltage level without switching to battery mode and conserving battery life.

Rapidly charge and power USB devices whether the UPS is providing utility or battery backup power. There is one USB Type-C port and one USB Type-A port that share 3.1A of power.

Helps prevent power surges that travel through Ethernet lines from causing damage to electronics.

The two widely-spaced outlets allow you to conveniently add transformer-sized plugs without blocking other outlets.

Exists when a line interactive UPS has an autotransformer that regulates low voltages (e.g., brownouts) and over voltages (e.g., spikes) without having to switch to battery.

This model is an ENERGY STAR certified Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system. ENERGY STAR is the trusted, government-backed symbol for energy-efficient products and practices that help save money and protect the environment.

A patented design that allows utility power to bypass the UPS transformer, when AC power is stable, which reduces energy consumption, noise, and heat buildup.

Minimizes noise during operation for a quieter work environment.

Provides IT professionals with tools for monitoring and managing the UPS and backup power. This software offers remote management functionality. This software can be downloaded for free from CyberPower.

CyberPower will repair or replace a defective UPS system (including batteries) within three years of the purchase date.

CyberPower will repair or replace properly connected equipment if it is damaged by a power surge.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If my PC has a 1200 watt Power supply will this be strong enough at 900 watts? Is this a pass through design?

A: The 900 watt rating is how many watts it will deliver when on battery. It's rated at 1500 watts pass-through when on line power. Even though your computer has a 1200 watt power supply, it more than likely never pulls that much. Most modern computers only draw 100-200 watts when idle or doing light tasks like email/web browsing. If you have 2-3 high-end power hungry video cards, are doing rendering or video processing, with a pile of hard drives, you could start getting up to the 900 watt limit. Buy a kill-a-watt and measure for sure. Also note that at 100% utilization on battery (drawing 900 watts) the run time is very short; maybe a minute or two. My workstation has an 850 watt power supply, a single GeForce 960 video card, i7-6700k, 16gb ram, 4 hdds and an ssd. With the router, a switch, and 2 monitors, I draw 350 watts when playing games & working on video encoding. I get approx. 15 minutes runtime. Idle it uses 75-100 watts, and a 30 min run time.

Q: 2. Can this software be installed on macOS Catalina? I am getting errors that it can't be checked by Apple.

A: Hold the Control key down when installing the .dmg file. That will display an "open" icon.

Q: 3. Can I connect a three outlet 50 foot extension cord into a single surge+battery outlet on the UPS as I have 2-3 other devices too far away from where the UPS will be placed. The devices are a cable modem, WiFi router and Netgear router?

A: In order for the UPS to work as intended, it is not recommended to use any type of extension cord or to share outlets with more than 1 device.

Q: 4. Is this product Underwriter Laboratories Certified, and if so, to what specifications?

A: The CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS is UL 1778.

Q: 5. I plan to use the CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD for my electronics work bench. When doing an initial test of an old radio or test equipment for the first time I bring the power up slowly from a variac. If the variac it getting its power from the UPS would this cause a problem?

A: It should not as long as it does not exceed the UPS capabilities but we could not guarantee it.

Q: 6. Can this UPS be used to clean up dirty power from less expensive back up generator?

A: NO! This is not a double conversion design, so it will pass through dirty power, unless you are on battery. This is true for almost all battery backups, as double conversion designs are less efficient.

Q: 7. What happens when grid power is off longer than the UPS battery will last and all connected devices lose power?

A: If the grid power is off longer than the CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS BH #CYCP1500PFCQ can keep your devices on, it will shut down and the devices will lose power. When the power resumes, it will recharge the battery and you will be able to power it up again.

Q: 8. Can you use a short extender on the outlet on the back of the UPS so that a wider external hard drive plug does not cause you to overlap the outlet beside it?

A: This will work, but the doc's say no extensions. I would imagine the only issue might be in a warranty claim situation - technically a short cable is going to make no difference in performance.

Q: 9. how long does it last?

A: Generally speaking Milton, batteries in UPS can last between 3 -5 years before signs of degradation. However, factors such as an UPS operating in consistent heat or frequent charging/discharging will shorten the live span of the UPS. I've had my CP1500PFCLCD for 13 months and it is operating excellent with no issues.

Q: 10. How long does it last on Battery power

A: I have experienced one power outage and one brown out . In each case, I chose to finish my work within five minutes and shut down the computer, so I am not able to say with certainty how long the unit will operate on battery power. The accompanying product literature states that the estimated run time of the unit is 129 minutes.
