Q: 1. can this trigger be used with a canon speedlite along with theDi700a?

A: no you cannot. you would want to use all nissin system or canon system (trigger n flash combo). but u can use nissin system to a canon body camera

Q: 2. Is there any way to turn off the awful pre-flash when using it wirelessly with a A7r2? It makes the subjects blink 95% of the time.

A: Stop using TTL and you will not have a Pre-Flash, its only in TTL. In Manual fires once only. This is a rule of TTL, it always fire a Pre-Flash in any flash and brand.

Q: 3. Will this work to trigger an SB-5000 speedlight?

A: You need the Hahnel Viper receiver for Nikon to use the transmitter with a SB-5000. The receiver is no longer available. This is a link to a few other options, https://bhpho.to/3dcUEfF

Q: 4. With this work with the Olympus OM-D E-Mark 10 Mark ll and Pen EPL7?

A: Nissin Di700A and Air 1 Commander is a great product.powerful and easy to use. don't know if it would work on those cameras, mine is for nikon. I think it certain versions are compatible.

Q: 5. Can I update the flash by myself with the newest firmwares?

A: Not according to a Nissin rep. It's a bummer but it will have to be sent in for update.

Q: 6. Can you connect this flash to a Gordex 960 power pack? Does it need a special cable?

A: Should be able to...but you need a cable that has a connectorthat fits the Sony HVL-F58AM...which appears to be the same connector as the Nissin

Q: 7. Will this fit the A-77ii?

A: Yes, l am using the di700a on my a77-II, and it's working great. All functions work with the multi interface, ttl, manual, and hss. To get the HSS function to work you have to hold the pilot button down for 3 sec. The zoom only works on the camera if your using a lens that communicates distance to the camera. Otherwise there is no wat to control the zoom unless you use the Air Comander. Front Curtin and Rear Curtain functions also work when using it on camera.

Q: 8. can you use high speed sync with this system?

A: No, this system does not have high speed sync. This model can do high speed sync but it does not do groups like the viper.hahnel Tuff TTL Flash Trigger For Canon CamerasB&H # HATTWTC ? Mfr # HL-TUFFTTLhttp://bhpho.to/QA3wA1

Q: 9. I use a A7 II. Is there any way to mix a Sony HVL-43M with the Nissin Air system? If so, which modes would be available? Thanks!

A: No. This flash and commander feature the newer Sony Multi Interface Shoe and are not directly compatible with the older Sony/Minolta-style Auto-lock Accessory Shoe (Such as the HVL-43M).

Q: 10. Can this connect and be a slave to the Sony HVL-F43M?

A: No, it can only connect to their own flashes and transmitters.

Simple straight forward design and function that works. The Di700A alone and with the Air unit work very well on both the Sony A6000 and A7 MK2. I have been using it no for a week and have used it both for studio and two events. No issues at all to this point. The only issue I have found so far is the included hotshoe stand which is very loose. It won't fall off but does wobble a lot. If you need a flash for your sony- it is great. If you want a wireless system, it has been flawless so far.

I had this system out of the box and working in less then 60 seconds. I bought 2 flashes along with the Air 1, and are so happy with their build quality and function I am going to put my order in for one more. With the mail in rebates all four units cost just a little more then my one Sony flash.

I bought this product to use with both a Sony A6000 and Sony A7M2, both having the multi interface hot shoe. Unlike a first reviewer, I've found this unit easy to use and not that badly constructed. Although it is made of plastic, it seems to be pretty rigid in construction to me. I've used it on both cameras numerous times with no problem in putting it on or off the hot shoe. I've also used the unit off camera, connecting the flash to its accompaning stand with no issues. I've tested the flash using it on camera in TTL mode and it works fine, zooming as I zoom my lens and firing each time a photo is taken. I've tested the unit off camera as well with the flash attached to its stand and all functions work as intended. Once binding the flash together with the included Air 1 Commander, its very easy to change modes from TTL to Manual by pushing the mode button on the commander unit. It's also very easy to increasse or decreasse, both EV or power whether in TTL or Manual modes, simply by rotating the select dial on the Air 1. If HSS is desired all thats required is to hold down the pilot button on the Air 1 for 3 seconds and it will start to blink.Any shutter speed can then be selected on the camera all the way to the maximum speed A6000 1/4000 or A7M2 1/8000. For camera set up in the menu select flash and set it to wireless for off camera use or auto flash for on camera use. I have found the unit to be an excellent buy for the money, especially when it comes with a fully functional Air 1 Commander with radio control. The only flaw I've found it that the pilot button is very small and a bit hard to push for the 3 second hold needed to put the unit into HSS mode.

Wireless options for Sony cameras are limited. I own a Nissan i40 for my Sony mirrorless cameras that works quite well, so I took a chance on the new Di700A flash kit with the Air 1 Commander. The instructions were a bit hard to decipher but the set up was generally very easy and worked flawlessly. I've had zero problems getting the on camera commander and the flash unit to communicate and changing modes and flash power in the different modes is simple and works well (once you memorize which button does what). I have been using the flash to take photos of hummingbirds with my new A7RII Sony mirrorless camera. I am quite happy with this solution to the off camera wireless problem for Sony cameras. Plus the price is VERY reasonable.
