Rosco sleeves are constructed of a solid polycarbonate tube within which is held the specific filter. This brand of gaffers tape does not leave a white sticky residue. I've used on carpet/concrete cover overs and to reinforce joints of joined xlr cables and I'm surprised that there is no white goo. Very strong in other applications as well. 5

okay if you are not in law enforcement or photography I see no other reason for you to have gaff tape. But this stuff sticks without leaving a residue when you pull it up. 5

Gaffer tape is a funny thing. Subtle differences from brand to brand make a big difference in how well it works. Too stiff the material isn't as good as flexible and the stickiness has to be just right to pull off and not leave residue. It has to tear not too ragged and not leave threads dangling. ProTape is the only gaff I buy as it meets all the criteria. Don't cheap out there are lots of knock off gaffer tape brands out there that can create more problems than help solve. ProTape is the best and one of those essential production tools that is worth the price. 5

You shouldn't use common duct tape for gaff tape type uses (such as securing cables on the floor) as duct tape leaves a sticky residue. This tape does not while still holding things securely. You do have to be careful as this tape can remove the paint from some surfaces (as I found out the hard way when I used a small piece of it to hold a control ring on a lens in place), but generally I've found that it does the job without marring the surface you're using it on and without leaving any sticky tape residue. 5
