The tan Countryman E6 Omnidirectional Earset Mic, Medium Gain with Detachable 2mm Cable and TA4F Connector for Shure Wireless Transmitters is a vocal microphone with an adjustable boom that weighs less than one tenth of an ounce and is designed to be used by only one person. Once adjusted, it will continually hold this shape.

The E6 earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6 earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6 earset's cable terminates to a TA4F connector for direct connection to Shure MXW1 and MXW1/0=-Z11 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The classic E6 is a good choice when one person will wear the microphone. Because the boom is stiffer, it can be adjusted to fit, then stored away and quickly reworn.

The E6's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6 earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6 earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Anyone have any experience with the noise pick-up from the table? I am concerned about hearing keyboards typing or pencil tapping, etc from council members. Currently we use Shure Gooseneck version, but they are obtrusive (according to the council members) and they always aim them away from their mouths.

A: Sympathetic vibrations are not really a problem as it has isolating features including rubber pads and internal mechanisms.

Q: 2. Can I order just a black cable for my Shure SE215?

A: Yes. Here is the most current, black, replacement cable for the SE215's BH #SHRMCEUNI.

Q: 3. What the weight it can support? for the three camera swagg. Can it support for example 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8 lenses?

A: That's exactly the set up i use. With a canon 7d and a 5d mark iv. So you should be fine :)

Q: 4. How would this perform as a headset mic for football/basketball playcallers? Is the isolation pretty good?

A: This product works well for this application, providing decent off-axis rejection of unwanted ambient sound. Keeping your gain settings a little lower on the bodypack will also help reduce ambient bleed. In particularly loud environments and in sports applications, it may also be helpful to mute or turn off your bodypack between announcements or calls to avoid unwanted speech or noise transmissions between uses.

Q: 5. Is there a white version?

A: We do not offer a white version of this boundary microphone.

Q: 6. XLR connector is male or female?

A: The XLR connection on this headset is Male.

Q: 7. For a city council meeting, where the members are facing an audience, I would assume a cardio pick-up pattern is better, as then it wouldn't pick-up as much sound from the audience?

A: That is correct. The omnidirectional version is good for round-table discussions.

Q: 8. can you use these wired with a 3.5mm jack? Description says so but want to check

A: Yes, the Shure AONIC 40 Noise-Canceling Wireless Over-Ear Headphones can be used wired with a 3.5mm cable. A cable is included in the box.

Q: 9. I have noticed that the clips that attach to the camera in the picture are the older version there is a newer one that has a safety thinking built in. Will the one I order be the latest version? And will you be getting in the large explorer lens pouches?

A: We are selling the newer version which has changed to a newer clasping mechanism as well as the new addition to a tether as well. Currently, we do not carry the Large Explorer Lens Pouches.

Q: 10. Is the XLR connection a Mini XLR ?

A: The Shure WH20 headset microphone is available with three different types of connectors. B&H# SHWH20QTR has a 1/4" phone connector, B&H# SHWH20XLR has a standard 3-pin male XLR connector, and B&H# SHWH20TQG has a 4-pin female mini XLR connector. The mini XLR version is intended for use with a wireless bodypack transmitter while the XLR and 1/4" connectors are for use with PA system or recorder.
