This device would almost solve the audio monitoring issue that most cheap dslr's have( no headphone jack out). I know that it wouldn't be the gain controlled audio from the camera but just the raw audio coming from the mic but it is better than nothing. So, It seems like this mic would work just fine for dslr, but I wanted to be 100% sure if the jack on the mic that is TRRS(the kind with the extra ring in the connector, not just a regular TRS jack) would work with a dslr camera? Does the mic need the extra ring for power?

A: Hi, you won't be able to plug this mic (with TRRS connection) into a DSLR (with TRS input). You could use the SC3 adaptor, but you will have nowhere to mount the mic to the camera. It really has only been designed for smartphones, not DSLR cameras.
