Q: 9. What is the maximum vertical distance between the Arca plate surface and upward to the horizontal tilt/swing pivot point?

A: Maximum distance is approx.7.5 inches.

Q: 10. Could this work on a monopod? Will it work alright with lighter lenses as well as heavier ones (is there a minimum weight requirement?)?

A: Benro GH2 Aluminum Gimbal Head does work on a monopod with a 3/8" screw. If you don't keep the monopod exactly straight the center of balance will change so the lens will move. That might not be a problem for you if you are holding the camera and panning and tilting but the benefit of having a gimbal will be diminished. Another issue is that it is very large and heavy. It weighs 3 lbs and is 9.5 inches tall so can be hard to hold on a monopod by some. It does not have minimum weight requirement. For a monopod I would recommend this gimbal: Wimberley MH-100 MonoGimbal Head for Monopods https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1513932-REG/wimberley_mh_100_monogimbal_head.html

I bought the GH2 to replace another gimbal that had a load capacity of 26 pounds. The load capacity of the Benro GH2 is 50 pounds. It is well built. The vertical and horizontal adjustments are about a quarter turn from full movement to lockdown. I immediately did some shooting with a large 500mm lens and this product was decidedly better at holding the equipment in place with minimal vibration. Good product at a fair price

It' s perfect, it meets all my needs and operates very smoothly. It's very well built, solid, easy adjustments, holds in all positions and provides a capabilities to fine tune positions. The sale price was great, happy I didn't have to pay $600+ for a high quality Gimbal.

The Benro, Aluminum Gimbal Head is very sturdy. Yes, it's not as light weight as other brands, but it is made to last. I am very pleased with how it handles. It does not drift, at all! It is very well made!

I was debating on ordering the Wimberly head, but I am glad I order the Benro GH2 and saved the extra money. This is a good, stable, well-built head. It supports my 600 f4 very well.

The Benro GH2 is a well-made, heavy duty lens gimbal. The large, rubber-coated knobs are captured so they cannot be lost. The elevation has friction adjustment but it works over a very small rotational range making it somewhat hard to set. The top of the supplied Arca-type plate has two small stops on one end that are set against the lens ring-mount foot to effectively stop any movement. On the bottom, there are slide-stop bolts. These bolt heads slide into extended clearance channels allowing good front/back adjustability for balancing. Also, it comes with extra -20 bolts that can be tightened with or without hex tools. For the vertical adjustment, there is a machined-in safety stop that keeps the slide from coming apart if the lock slips. The top bearing feels like a sleeve-type and the bottom one for panning feels like needle bearings, but I cannot confirm that. The axes pivot smoothly. The gimbal's 50# max load capacity easily holds my D500 or D7200 (gripped) with a Nikkor 200-500 lens. When balancing the rig, one should consider the location of the system's center of gravity (CG) which is below the optical axis due to the weights of the lens mount, the pivoting gimbal parts, and the camera body's uneven distribution of weight towards the bottom, including the battery/grip. When you find the balance point, the rig movement has a neutral almost weightless feeling. The vertical adjustability feature, the mounting plate, and cost are the main reasons why I selected this model.
