The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is cocoa and comes with a 2mm diameter Duramax cable. It terminates to a Switchcraft TA3-F connector for use with AKG wireless transmitters.

Q: 1. How sturdy are these? We are replacing some Apex headsets that appear to be quite delicate, two have failed so far; they have been used and stored very carefully...

A: Strong so far. Our new Senior Pastor has been using this brand for years and speaks very highly of it...hence buying new one for him. I would not recommend for kids being kids. Our guest speakers use same brand but older models (we have 3) and those have held up strong as well all these years. We have only had to replace the earclip once when it was sat on. Company stands behind their product!

Q: 2. My beige head worn (ear loop) countryman mic started breaking up - static, etc. The problem was in the connection between the cable and the mic. I rotated the part of the connector at the cable back and forth about a half turn, and it made less noise and cleared up after a few turns. Does this connector release from the mic if it is pulled out, or is it not meant to disconnect? I would like to disconnect it if possible and spray the connections with CAIG D5 to clean the connection.

A: Yes, the Countryman E6 Earset Microphone does have a detachable cable. You can see the mic without the cable in the second photo and the cable is shown by itself in the fourth photo. The cable can be replaced if needed with the Countryman E6 & E6i Snap-on Replacement Microphone Cable (B&H # COE6CT1SR) which has a 3.5mm locking connector that is compatible for use with Sennheiser wireless bodypack transmitters. Countryman also offers replacement cables in different colors and with different connectors.

Q: 3. Will this work with an AT transmitter with 4 pin connector?

A: For a four pin AT the model you should use this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1515571-REG/countryman_e6iow7b1anch_e6i_earset_omni_hiros4.html/specs

Q: 4. Will this work with Rode FilmMaker wireless transmitters?

A: Yes it will work. It is a 1/8 locking connector wired for Sennheiser systems. Sennheiser and Rode use the same pin configuration.

Q: 5. Will this work with a Sennheiser XSW transmitter?

A: The Countryman E6 # E6OW6T2SR is compatible with the Sennheiser SK-XSW bodypack transmitter.

Q: 6. This version CO-3 features a 1/8 (3.5mm) mini connection,,.... is it a locking connection like on all sennheiser mics?

A: yes this has a threaded collar for secured insertion into the body pac

Q: 7. Compatable with the Audio Technica ATW-T210A????

A: No it is not. Your bodypack transmitter will accept a cW-style, push-lock, 4-pin connector.

Q: 8. Which Countryman E6 is best for clean, crisp SPOKEN WORD applications, which frequency?

A: This version in the W5 band is best for talking and spoken word only applications, BH #COE6OW5C2SL. Please note the version selected is in the color Cocoa, and is wired for in a ta4f connection for Shure wireless systems.

Q: 9. How long is the boom?

A: Approximately 4 inches.

Q: 10. Will the microphone distort with a loud singer?

A: The MX153 is intended for use in speech applications; as such it would not have the same tailored frequency response nor the same SPL rating as a condenser element built for vocals. While, depending on the singer and gain settings of the connected equipment, this model might suffice, however some more ideal headset options for vocalists would include the Shure Beta54, Beta53, SM35 or WH20XLR, with the Countryman E6 being the highest quality option available in a similar formfactor and with similar color options.
