Kodak Professional Ektachrome E100 is a daylight-balanced color transparency film characterized by its extremely fine grain structure, vibrant color rendering, and overall low contrast profile. The lower contrast values contribute to a wide dynamic range and a neutral tonal scale for greater color accuracy, and a low D-min helps to ensure brighter, whiter whites. It has a medium-speed nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21° when developed in E-6 process and the smooth grain profile pairs with a micro-structure optimized T-GRAIN emulsion to make it especially well-suited to scanning applications.

This item is one box of 10 sheets of 4 x 5" color transparency film.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does anyone know the reciprocity characteristics of this film?

A: This is the only information that was able to be found on Kodaks website. Adjustments for Long and Short Exposures No filter correction or exposure compensation is required for exposure times from 1 / 10,000 to 10 seconds. At exposure times of 120 seconds, add CC10R filtration. Note: This information applies only when the films are exposed to daylight. The data is based on average emulsions rounded to the nearest 1/3 stop and assume normal, recommended processing. Use the data only as a guide. For critical applications, make tests under your conditions.

Q: 2. Hey there, I just want two be 100% sure... #1 This is 'reversal' film, which means I should be able to take a photo (on any 35mm film camera) and the film would come out in full color without me having to develop it, right? #2 How many film canisters come in this package? that's it, and thanks to any on who replys to this.

A: 1. You have to get the film processed/developed no matter what. When it's developed the colors you get will be correct and will not have to be reversed. 2. It one roll (canister) of film with 36 frames (photos) on it.

Q: 3. Can this be used with a Bell and Howell Zoomatic Directors Series camera?

A: i'm sorry, no. This is super 8 only.

Q: 4. What is the expiration date?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 5. Will this work with Bell and Howell microstar z? I don't think I have the XL version, it's just the regular, I believe.

A: Yes, The Bell and Howell Microstar Z does work with Super 8 film. More info about the camera model - https://bit.ly/3VHBzZd

Q: 6. Hey there, and thanks for the replies to my previous questions, but I'm still a little confused. So once I've finished shooting the whole role of film does it still require a chemical bath OR does it just need to be scanned for the final full color result? thanks...

A: You need to process this film in a lab. It is processed in E-6 chemistry.

Q: 7. Does processing include slide mounts

A: Yes it is mounted on a cardboard frame.

Q: 8. Does this film require the use of a 81a, b or c filter when shooting in the shade or under the clouds?

A: Typically no, but running a test would be ideal.

Q: 9. Is processing and mounting included in the mailer kit, or is that a separate fee?

A: Yes, the processing and mounting is included in the mailer.

Q: 10. What's the expiration date on this film?

A: We are sorry. We can't confirm the expiration date on the film as we often have inventory mixed from different batches.

This film is a favorite of mine. I shoot it in 35mm, 120, and now 4X5. Awesome across the board. I highly reccomend it over the highly highly saturated Fuji films.

I wasn’t sure about the new Ektachrome at first. I shot some 35mm in my F5 and in an old rangefinder and it just sent me back to Provia. But then I tried 120 and was thrilled with the results - particularly with night shots. I decided to grab some 4x5. I have now developed 4 sheets and am finding that I really like it. There seems to be a touch more exposure latitude than Provia and the colors are nicer than what I saw with the 35mm version. I will buy more.

I tried this slide film because I can't get Fuji Velvia anymore. I was truly amazed and now have fallen in love with Kodak again. The intense colors are so beautiful. I shoot 4x5 and the quality is just outstanding.

I got my first 4x5 - intrepid- shot a few test shots with this film in different lighting conditions - night, day, overcast - in all situations the film rendered beautiful colors and tonal range. I developed the film myself using spp tank and cinestills e6 chemistry. The results exceeded my every expectation. Great film.

I enjoy the natural colors it produces and the lack of reciprocity failure. Keith Canham sold me some in 5x7 too. It's my favorite color film, looks magnificent on my light table.
