The cocoa Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Earset Mic, Medium Gain with Detachable 1mm Cable and cH-style 4-pin Connector for Audio Technica Wireless Transmitters is a vocal microphone with a soft, flexible boom that facilitates its adjustment for different users. It's built with a larger silicone rubber earpiece making it better suited for situations when multiple users share the same mic.

The E6i earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6i earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6i earset's cable terminates to a cH-style 4-pin connector for direct connection to Audio Technica ATW-3201 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6i is soft and highly flexible with a larger silicone rubber ear piece. When multiple users share a mic, the E6i is a great choice. The soft boom is durable and the flexibility makes it easy to adjust for different users.

The E6i's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6i earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6i earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. AT875r vs AT897? The price is close, so I'm not sure. I'd like to use it to achieve good sound with my video, as well as doing some pure audio interviews.

A: If you are concerned about the mic extending into the frame of the shot (on-camera mount) - go with the AT875. It is 4 shorter than the AT897. But the AT897 is the superior product in terms of frequency response, Maximum Input Sound Level (SPL) and rejection of ambient sound from the sides and rear.

Q: 2. Can i use this with an android phone

A: The ATR4697 features a mono 1/8 jack designed for connection to a portable audio recorder. Although the connector is the same size, will not be recognized by a smartphone or tablet.

Q: 3. attaching this to the Canon XA10 what cable do i need to purchase? Thanks!

A: If you are interested in mounting the 875R to the XA10, we recommend a short XLR cable. Kopul makes a variety of high quality cables. The 4000 is a premium cable and comes in coiled or straight.

Q: 4. Will the AT875R work on a Panasonic Lumix GH4? Does it plug directly in or do I need a pre amp?

A: The Audio-Technica AT875R Short Shotgun Microphone requires phantom power to operate, which is not provided directly from the 3.5mm external microphone input on the Panasonic Lumix GH4 Mirrorless Camera. To use these two components together, a device that provides a phantom-powered XLR input preamp and converts the signal to a 3.5mm microphone output is required. BH #BEDXAMICROP Beachtek DXA-MICRO-PRO Active XLR Compact Adapter is a good solution in this scenario: https://bhpho.to/3tzeD2N

Q: 5. does this come with the foam windshield? or do I buy it separately?

A: Mine came with the foam cover. As well as a black Audio Technica zippered bag for the mic.

Q: 6. Can this be used with the Beachtek DXA micro pro? Then I can record into my camera with the XLR on the preamp but does the clip that comes with it attach to the preamp? Or do I need some sort of adapter to make it attach to a cold shoe?

A: Yes, the AT875R microphone can be used with the Beachtek DXA-Micro-Pro to record audio into a camera. The DXA-Micro-Pro can be attached on top of the camera in the shoe mount or mounted below in the camera's tripod socket. The clip that is included with the microphone is used to attach the mic to a mic stand. If you want to attach the mic to the camera using a cold shoe mount, you should use a shockmount like the Auray DUSM-1 Universal Shockmount (B&H # AUDUSM1) or Rode SM3-R Camera Shoe Shockmount (B&H # ROSM3R). If you want to mount both the DXA-Micro-Pro and AT875R on top of the camera, that is also possible. The shockmounts mentioned above both have a 3/8" female thread on the bottom of the cold shoe. The male post on top of the DXA-Micro-Pro 1/4"-20. You can use a CAMVATE Cold Shoe Mount with 1/4"-20 Thread (B&H # CAC1347) to create a cold shoe on top of the DXA-Micro-Pro or use an Impact Female 1/4"-20 to Male 3/8"-16 Thread Adapter (B&H # IMCA109) to attach the shockmount by the female thread on the bottom.

Q: 7. What is the Optimal Pickup Range? looking to use it for interviews on set. I would have it over the talents head, out of frame

A: You should be able to place the Audio-Technica AT875R Short Shotgun Microphone about 3 to 5 feet overhead to capture clear audio, then adjust the distance to find the sweet spot, depending on how loud the people are speaking.

Q: 8. can this mic be used with headphones for monitoring?

A: There is no headphone port on the mic. You would need to monitor the sound from the device you plug the mic into.

Q: 9. I would like to connect AT875R to Line input in Canon 1Dx II camera, have I to add a phantom power module to run mic, and wich works properly? thanks

A: Yes you need Phantom power

Q: 10. will this mic work with an AF100? What mount do I need to attach it to the camera?

A: I use the at8410a microphone shock mount
