The tan Countryman E6i Directional Earset Mic, Low Gain with Detachable 1mm Cable and TA3F Connector for Audix Wireless Transmitters is a vocal microphone with a soft, flexible boom that facilitates its adjustment for different users. It's built with a larger silicone rubber earpiece making it better suited for situations when multiple users share the same mic.

The E6i earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, directional E6i earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the lowest gain for the most powerful vocals that require the highest overload. Additionally, the earset comes with two pattern-changeable protective caps for maximum isolation and gain before feedback. This directional E6i earset's cable terminates to a TA3F connector for direct connection to Audix B60 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6i is soft and highly flexible with a larger silicone rubber ear piece. When multiple users share a mic, the E6i is a great choice. The soft boom is durable and the flexibility makes it easy to adjust for different users.

The E6i's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6i earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The directional earset protective caps adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid.

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The directional E6i earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How to install the rings on the mic?

A: They just snap on and off. Gently pull the old ring off with fingernail and snap new one on.

Q: 2. Can this be used to supply power for the Electro-Voice RE92L?

A: The APS911 is designed for use with Audix mics that feature a mini XLR connection. Unfortunately not confirmed to operate with non Audix mics due to differences in mic wiring and power requirements.

Q: 3. Would the Lectrosonics MCSRTRS be the correct cable to work with a Lectrosonics SRb going into channels 7/8 on a Sound Devices 833?

A: That is correct so long as you have a proper output sled with two ta3m outputs for the SRb.

Q: 4. Does "set of four" mean that I'll get 4 male and 4 female?

A: This set gives you 4 male clips and 4 female receivers.

Q: 5. Which size OP/TECH Mini QD Loops, 1.0mm or 1.5mm, is the best fit for the strap lugs on the Canon G7X Mark II?

A: I have used the the 1.0mm on my G9X MKII for a year, no problems. I think the 1.0mm is a good fit vs. the 1.5mm. I wondered about the weight capacity of the 1mm vs the 1.5mm so I contacted the company. They said the weight capacity is the same, that the breaking point is not the cord, and that the safety factor is a 2.5 lb capacity for both the 1 and 1.5mm.

Q: 6. What is the diameter of the microphone?

A: The diameter of the Audix ADX40's capsule is 0.47 inches.

Q: 7. The input connector is listed as mini XLR female - according to pics online, it is mini XLR Male, which would make sense. Can anyone confirm?

A: Obviously it's a mini XLR male! And the stuff does its job perfectly. I use it with my Shure condenser head-microphone (with an adapter cable from ta4f to ta3f)...

Q: 8. Can I plug this in directly to a church PA system or does it need to go through a mixer?

A: The Audix APS2 only provides Phantom power to mics which require it. No preamplification. The outputs from the unit are mic level and can be connected to any device that features a mic input such as a mixer or PA system.

Q: 9. Can this be used with other than Audix mics?

A: It's actually a bit more complicated that John P's answer. You have to make sure the polarity on the mic you want to use is matched to the polarity of the power supply. I bought this power supply intending to use it with a non-Audix mic but the polarities were not matched and I only got a very faint, noisy signal. Bought an Audix mic and it works great.

Q: 10. Does this work with Sennheiser ME-2 Microphone Mic Lavalier?

A: No. It seems to only be compatible with Audix mikes. I bought one to use with a Shure Beta 54 mic, but it doesn't work - even though they both have the mini-XLR connector, the Shure has one more pin than the Audix. The Sennheiser ME-2 has a 1/8 connector, so it wouldn't work with the Audix adapter at all.
