The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is cocoa and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a 1/8" (3.5mm) Locking Mini connector for use with AKG wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Compatable with the Audio Technica ATW-T210A????

A: No it is not. Your bodypack transmitter will accept a cW-style, push-lock, 4-pin connector.

Q: 2. what are the color options?

A: Black and Beige.

Q: 3. Does this purchase come with a body pack transmitter?

A: No, this listing is for the plug-on microphone only.

Q: 4. How sturdy are these? We are replacing some Apex headsets that appear to be quite delicate, two have failed so far; they have been used and stored very carefully...

A: Strong so far. Our new Senior Pastor has been using this brand for years and speaks very highly of it...hence buying new one for him. I would not recommend for kids being kids. Our guest speakers use same brand but older models (we have 3) and those have held up strong as well all these years. We have only had to replace the earclip once when it was sat on. Company stands behind their product!

Q: 5. Is the connector screw on (lockable)?

A: Hello John, This microphone has a hardwired termination of the connector. Hope that helps!

Q: 6. What is the maximum distance and does it record ?

A: Not very clear question... It is a microphone and it has the ability, to transform sound into electric signals. To record the signals, you need a recorder, where the mic is plugged in. As it has a omnidirectional capsule, there is no front or behind on this mic. So a directional mic would hear more in the distance than this one does. It is normally used on places where a mic has to be hidden (film, broadcast). Hope this answers the question.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with a Shure MLX1 Bodypack Transmitter J10 band? thx

A: This Shure MX153 Earset Headworn Microphone has a TA4F (4-pin mini-XLR female or "TQG") connector which is compatible for use with Shure bodypack transmitters. I think the model for your transmitter may be BLX1 (not MLX1 - there was a typo on some of the product descriptions from other retailers). But regardless of the model number for your transmitter, the MX153 microphone will work with Shure bodypack transmitters. The connector type and wiring configuration are what matter for compatibility of the microphone and transmitter, not the wireless frequency band that the system operates on.

Q: 8. Cananyone tell me how this performs if you have two speakers close to each other? Is there significant mic bleed between two mics in close proximity (like guest/host interview?) And if used over a PA or speaker system, does the PA bleed into the Mic? Thanks!

A: Two people can be sitting or standing next to each other and there will be minimal bleed. These mics are omnidirectional, but are finely tuned to supress feedback, if P.A. speakers are placed in front of the talent, facing away. I would recommend this pick-up pattern to allow subjects to move their heads back and forth, without volume fluctuating.

Q: 9. Is this product compatible with SONY UTX-B03?What is the difference between D2 and D3 of 3.5mm Locking Connector?

A: No it may not work correctly. You need the ones that are wired with a 3.5mm Locking connector for Sony and the ones that the catalog number ends with SN See item# COB6W4BSN

Q: 10. Will this Countryman E6 with 3.5mm locking connector work with any wireless transmitter that has a 3.5mm (1/8") input? For example, will it work with the Rodelink Filmmaker Wireless transmitters?

A: The locking 3.5mm connector on this Countryman mic is wired for Sennheiser, but it will work with the Rode Filmmaker transmitters. Sony wires their 3.5mm mics differently, so this will not work with Sony transmitters. Countryman has many version of their mic models to cover most manufacturer's wiring and technical specifications.
