A: I've had some left outside in both hot and cold weather. I would NEVER install while the cartridge is icy cold. Wait until it slowly warms up to room temperature (wait a day). Give it a little extra agitation (shake it so you are sure it's mixed - which you should do anyway as part of Canon's recommendation).

Q: 8. Is there an expiration date on the ink cartridges. If so, how long do they typically last? Need this to decide whether to go with 330ml or 700 ml.

A: Ink cartridges will usually have a manufacturing date as opposed to an expiration date (some may). The general idea is that cartridges are good for up to 18 months after manufacturing. Keeping cartridges in their sealed packaging prevents them from drying out.
