Q: 1. Can I use rechargeable AA batteries in the included tray that comes with this product?

A: Yes, they work fine in mine. The battery info only displays the charge level graphically, not as a percentage, and neither the number of shots nor the battery age are displayed. Using 8 (required AAs) adds quite a bit of weight to the camera and I believe you are better off just carrying around a couple of spare EN EL-15s to use instead, but each to his own. Bottom line: they work fine.

Q: 6. does this grip increase the frame rate? One review says it doesn't. I thought that was one of the main advantages for an extended grip like this.

A: The burst rate when shooting in FX format cannot be increased past 4 fps. When shooting in DX format, if you use AA batteries in this grip, or the EN-EL18 battery with the BL-5 battery chamber cover, the max burst rate will increase from 5 fps to 6fps. With the EN-EL15 battery, the frame rate will remain the same.

Q: 7. Can't get any batteries to charge in the unit. I've plugged it in using the usb-c cable provided with the z8. Anyone else?

A: Nikon EN-EL15b and EN-EL15c batteries can be charged in the Nikon MB-N12 Power Battery Pack over USB-C. One would need a USB power adapter that supports PD (Power Delivery).

This item was included in the Nikon D750 Video Production kit that I purchased last month, and everything is perfect so far! Everything in it, including this multi battery power pack, is high quality material and I feel like it has justified the price. I haven't used it extensively, but so far it works just as expected and it's great for when you shoot vertical because all the buttons are in the same place. 5

Provides extra battery power and allows user to shoot vertically with additional controls and shutter button on grip. Shutter fees the same as the one on the camera so it feels familiar. Blends in well with the camera and looks good though it does add some weight and height to the camera. 5

it's a great accessory, but adds a lot of weight to the camera, so It isn't something I plan to use often. But for somene who doesn't mind extra weight, it's a great power pack to own 5

I do a lot of sports pics and really like the more convenient position of the shutter release button when rotating the camera. It is a bit pricy but I have never been disappointed with Nikon quality. 5

I initially thought this Power Pack would be more trouble than it was worth, adding weight and bulk to the D750 which seemed light and comfortable on its own. However my new D750 camera seemed to use up a battery faster than other models I have used so I decided to give the MB-D16 a try. I am glad I did. I was able to shoot uninterrupted for 11 hours on a 65 degree day, taking 700 images without interruption to change batteries. Since I use the D750 with a 600mm lens on a Wimberly head with a heavy carbon fiber tripod, the extra weight was negligible. I have also used it on hikes paired with an 80/400mm zoom and it was comfortable all day. I have heard some people like the larger grip the combination provides, it does not matter to me. Part of my reluctance to use the power pack stemmed from experience with the old film camera attachable motor drives which were somewhat unstable and difficult to keep tightened. There is no such problem with the MB-D16, it is very stable and stays tightly attached to the camera. 5

it is a greet item , it add a lot to the D750 make it easy to hold , every help full especially in portrait i recommend it to all 5
