Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it bright enough with a 100W constant light for filming?

A: No. We suggest a bare minimum of 400watts in order to illuminate the light shaping tool.

Q: 2. Is this Optical Spot compatible with the Godox VL300?

A: The Westcott Optical Spot is only suitable for LED lights up to 100 watts, so it would not be compatible with the Godox VL300.

Q: 3. Could use a canon ef to rf adapter to use Canon RF lenses?

A: Yes. If a end-user really would like to they could.

Q: 4. Can I use my Godox DP1000III Professional Studio Flash with this accessory?

A: Officially, the Westcott Optical Spot by Lindsay Adler for Bowens (B&H# WEOSLABWNS) says it's for studio strobes up to 600W/s and LED lights up to 100W. The major concern is the amount of heat that is generated inside of this tight-fitting modifier. Having said that, as long as you are not using the incandescent bulb of the Godox DP1000III Professional Studio Flash (B&H# GODP1000III) and you don't use the strobe in a way that results in a buildup of heat then the heat won't be a concern. Please keep in mind that using this in a way that's not consistent with the manufacturer's specifications might void the warranty.

Q: 5. 3rd party spots that look exactly the same (except front lens) have a conus shaped tube with some optical element after the mount thus it makes it impossible to use it with strobes with protruding bulb like Godox AD600 pro. Does this one have enough space to fit the bulb from 600 pro in?

A: Yes, the Westcott Optical Spot by Lindsay Adler for Bowens works with the AD600 pro. The spot is large enough for the bulb.

Q: 6. Will this adapter also work on the EliteBook 8460p laptop?

A: yes

Q: 7. How does Optical Spot compare to the Aputure Spotlight Mount Set?

A: Both can be used with Gobos. The Aputure can only be used with LED, but the Westcott Optical spot can be used with flash or LED.

Q: 8. Can you use two of these with the HP 2013 UltraSlim docking station? Side by side or is the adapter to thick?

A: We have not been able to test it out, but based off the specs, If it would work it would be a very fit. I would not recommended it.

Q: 9. How does it focus?

A: The 150mm f/3.5 lens included with this kit would have a manual focus ring in front.

Q: 10. Does this support HDR (DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.0b)?

A: HP doesn't specify the HDMI port is a 2.0, but HDMI 2.0 supports a 4K resolution @ 60Hz. This adapter supports a 4K resolution at 60Hz, if your full system supports it. This adapter is compatible with selected computers from HP.
