The black K&M 25993 is a compact, space-saving microphone stand for use as a short floor stand or as a desktop stand, for podcasting and other tabletop applications. The flat, stable stand slides under a bass drum, an amp, or a cajon and is a good choice in places where a tripod stand might be too bulky.

The height easily adjusts from 10.8 to 15.9". And the boom arm extends from 13.1 to 22.2", allowing for precise mic positioning. Four elastic rubber feet absorb impact sound and reduce unwanted transmission noise.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the total length at collapse position? I want a stand with arm that will fit inside my Pelican 1650 case for flights.

A: I contacted the manufacturer to confirm the collapsed length of the Auray MS-5220T Short Tripod Microphone Stand. The collapsed length of the stand without the boom arm attached is 17.7” and 24.5” with the boom arm attached.

Q: 2. Does the rubber back foot come off for flat storage?

A: The rubber foot was not meant to be removed but more than likely could be with force if desired.

Q: 3. Would this stand be suitable for a shotgun mic (like the Rode NTG2)? I want to use it for interviews.

A: I believe so, it's possible you may need a different clamp than the one that comes with it. Note that although it is a telescoping boom, you still need to balance the weight, so make sure the distance is sufficient.

Q: 4. What size is the treading on this item?

A: The thread on this microphone stand is 5/8"-27.

Q: 5. What size is the thread where it connects to the base?

A: The thread size of the cast iron base on the Atlas Sound DS-7E Desk Stand is 7/8"-27.

Q: 6. So with the main pole at max height of 31", and then the boom extended straight up at 33" max extension, you could get a mic 64" off the ground?

A: No. While the boom length is listed as 33 inches, when the boom is vertical (easily done), there is considerable overlap of the stand and the boom. Also, the top of the stand itself is more like 29 inches. With everything extended as high as possible, the top of the boom is just over 56 inches from the floor.

Q: 7. What is the range of heights for this stand, with the legs unfolded? It says up to 8.5 , but what's the lowest it will go? Obviously the telescoping portion can't go below where the legs go down to.

A: 7-1/2 - 10

Q: 8. At its lowest setting, what is the height of this mic stand to the bottom of the screw mount?

A: While that spec is not specified by the manufacturer, we would estimate about 1''.

Q: 9. Would this stand work for recording audio narration with a AKG Project Studio P220?

A: Yes. This has stadard mic stand threadng and will fit 90% of all studio microphone mounts.

Q: 10. Can it take the weight of a Shure SM7B?

A: Yes, the K&M 25995 will support the weight of the SM7B. If you want to ensure the stand won't move or tip over if bumped accidentally, just put a sandbag or weight on the base.
