Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what lens can I use to get 1to1 copy of 16mm film frame?

A: If you have a full frame camera, I would recommend the 50mm Sony lens.

Q: 2. Can I use this on an FM2 fitted with a 28mm Nikkor lens or a 40mm Voigtlander lens?

A: Although these Vello Auto Extension Tubes can fit a Nikon FM2, focusing ability may vary when pairing your particular lenses with them.

Q: 3. D5300 Camera with 18-140 'kit' lens- Will the VR and AF function the same with these?

A: Yes, VR and AF will work, VR works inside the lenses, no relation with the tubes, and AF will work because of the electrical contacts between the lens and camera (but if you're doing macro shots you should use manual focus)

Q: 4. Will this work with the d750?

A: Yes, they are compatible with the D750.

Q: 5. Will I need one or two of these for my BRG1500AVRLCD ?

A: You would only need one CyberPower RB1290X2 Replacement battery for the BRG1500AVRLCD.

Q: 6. will these extension tubes work with the full-frame Nikon D600 for full frame effect

A: Yes, the Vello Auto Extension Tubes for Nikon are compatible with the Nikon D600.

Q: 7. do these work with the xf 35mm f/1.4 ?

A: Yes, I use it on two lenses. I have used it on my 23mm and my 35mm. I have found that it works best on the 35mm. You have to get real close with the 23mm to get it to come into focus. Both lenses give great bokeh results as well.

Q: 8. I have a Nikon D7000, and am hoping to use these tubes with a prime 35mm 1:1.8G lens. Will I be able to get close enough to shoot snowflakes? I believe (without checking) that the minimum focus distance with that lens is somewhere around 11.5 inches. (I am new to macro shooting so please excuse my lack of knowledge.) Thanks :-)

A: I also have a Nikon D7000, and the Vello extension tubes, but not your particular lens. This is what I find:Nikon 17-35 f/2.8 at 35 mm + 20 mm tube = 1.625 wide field, 1.5 distance from lens.Nikon 17-35 f/2.8 at 35 mm + 36 mm tube = 0.875 wide field, 0.25 distance from lens.Nikon 50 f/1.8G + 36 mm tube = 1.125 wide field, 2 distance from lensThe 36 mm tube will give the greatest reproduction ratio, as can be seen above, but you will be right on top of your subject. I have shot bugs with the above 50mm 1.8G + 20 mm tube to good effect, but your depth of field is quite small and can benefit from focus stack sets and related software. If you are wanting to shoot snowflakes, you might be able to avoid the shortcomings for small depth of field since snowflakes have minimal depth anyway. The very short lens/subject distance will make frontal lighting almost impossible, but if the flakes were on a glass sheet, you could light them from the back. Or, invest in a ring flash.Anyway, have fun.Chris

Q: 9. What sort of change in minimum focus distance could I expect on a Nikon 18-300 zoom on a D7500? Will the lenses still focus at infinity as well or do you need to take the tube out to use the lens for normal photography?

A: If you combine a 3 tubes, the magnification of the Nikon 18-300mm lens becomes 4.1x and the minimum focus becomes 4.49 inches. Without the tubes the lens has 0.32x magnification and the minimum focus is 18.8 inches. When using extension tubes, there will be no infinity focus.

Q: 10. will this work with the TC-14 or TC-20 teleconverter from Olympus?

A: We have not tested using the Vello EXT-MFTD2 Auto Extension Tube Set for Micro 4/3 Mounts and Lenses with 1.4x or 2x teleconverters. Teleconverters are designed to multiply the focal length of the lens to increase the lens' reach, whereas extension tubes are designed for macro photography to allow you to focus closer than the lens' designed minimum focus distance, increasing magnification, but eliminating the ability to focus at infinity. Extension tubes and teleconverters are not often used together, and I have not seen them tested together.

These are a great option to the Fuji brand and you get both sizes for the cost of one Fuji extension tube.

Fit is solid. No light leaking that I have found. Responsive with auto-focus. Seems like an ideal alternative vs spending significantly more for branded Fuji extension tube. And you bet 2 of them. Would buy again.

Excellent. Tried them with several lenses. Found that they work best when both are used at the same time.

Great value! Both the 11mm and 16mm mount very smoothly with a nice tight fit on my Fui XT1. Overall build quality was more than I expected; especially for the relatively inexpensive price. I've owned a dedicated macro lens (Nikon 105) before but these extension tubes are the perfect way to get your macro fix for a fraction of the price. I would highly recommend this product.

Have used on one shoot so far. I just use the 10mm tube on my Fuji XT3. Fits really well. Auto focus works, but I prefer to manually focus. Would recommend.

Well built; everything I would had expected for an extension tube. The autofocus and TTL metering are kept. I'm very pleased with this purchase. I would recommend to anyone using Fuji XF lenses. I'm using it with my XF60mm to have closer close-ups.

Wow, what a bang for the buck. I use this with many of my Fuji lenses when I don't want to carry the 60mm macro around. Used with the 60mm Macro these tubes make it a true 1:1 macro lens. No loss of sharpness and super easy to use. Recommended for anyone interested in macro photography.
