The ne8800m from Ashly is an 8 input, 8 output network enabled digital signal processor that offers ease of use, setup and control using standard 10/100 Ethernet protocol and Protea NE software. No special outboard control units are needed. The DSP signal processing library is extensive and utilizes multiple SHARC processors.

Processing blocks include an 8 x 8 matrix mixer, a full complement of variable Q graphic and parametric EQ, up to 8th-order Butterworth, Bessel, Linkwitz,and Notched-Linkwitz crossover filters, and an advanced automatic feedback suppressor. Also included are autolevelers, compressors, matrix duckers, limiters, frequency-keyed noise gates, time delay up to 1365ms on every channel, sinewave, pink noise and white noise generators.

All programming is accomplished using Ethernet or RS-232 protocol and the Protea NE software running under Windows. Hot-plug software control allows for plugging any function into any channel block even when running live audio with no latency or recompiling necessary. Automatic DHCP network IP configuration reduces network set up time. No front panel controls and multi-level software security with password access assures a tamper-proof audio system.

The ne8800m includes 4 microphone inputs with software switchable +48V phantom power and preamp gain. The microphone inputs are in addition to the line inputs (cannot be used simultaneously).

A: I have used it with a Keyboard Line Level out using the pad switch. One line out of the mic splitter was going to a live mixer the other line out was going to an audio interface and DAW for recording. I would very well. Dan

A: AES3 digital audio output is available as a 4- or 8-channel option for the Ashly ne8800A Network Enabled Digital Signal Processor. The AES3 outputs are pass-through only (no DSP).

Q: 7. Does the Ashly ne8250PE amp come with all the Euroblock connectors or do they have to be purchased seperately?

A: The Euroblock inputs are embedded into the rear chassis of the component. No Euroblock connectors ae included as separate DIY items for crimping/soldering onto your own wiring.

A: The NZXT Signal HD60 External Capture Card will capture whatever type of audio you are outputting into it.
