The tan B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Low Sensitivity, with Detachable 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sky Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter. It can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, house of worship, and general lavalier applications.

This version is ideal for use as a head mic in theater. Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in a performer's hair or on costumes, ties, or behind a shirt button. It can also be attached to eyeglasses, for a secure, discreet, and convenient alternative to hair miking. The ultrathin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's aramid-reinforced cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Sky UT86P wireless bodypack transmitters.

Additionally, the included swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with a protective cap, which can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Low, head miking for theater.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How is the echo on these microphones? I'm having an issue of shooting in a large space, and the boom mic I use picks up a lot of echo so I am trying to reduce that to get clearer audio.

A: By placing these mics on a person directly, they will pick up much more of the voice and less room noise than a shotgun in a large space.

Q: 2. Can you tell me which is the transmitters version that you sell on B&H?

A: These are the USA legal versions.

Q: 3. Can you use other, better lav mics with this system? If so any recommendations?

A: Yes, you can use different lavalier microphones with the Saramonic UwMic9 wireless transmitter. The transmitter uses a 3.5mm locking connector and can be used with any of the lavalier microphones that are compatible with Sennheiser wireless transmitters since the wiring for Saramonic is the same. Please note that Sony wireless microphones use the same locking connector, but the wiring is different so Sony mics are not compatible. A few examples of compatible mics are the Sennheiser ME 2-II Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (B&H# SEME2II), Countryman B3 Omni Lavalier Mic, Standard Sens, with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sennheiser Wireless Transmitters (B&H# COB3W4BSR), Tram TR50 - Omnidirectional Lavalier Condenser Microphone (B&H# TRTR50BSETP), Countryman EMW Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Flat Frequency Response for Sennheiser Transmitters (B&H# COMEMWFBSR), and Point Source Audio Series8 CO-8WL Omnidirectional Waterproof Lavalier Microphone (B&H# POCO8WLXSEBE). Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat if you would like personal assistance in selecting a microphone best suited for your specific application.

Q: 4. Dose the Sanken Cos-11D lav work with the Saraminic UWMIC9 TX9 transmitter ?

A: Yes, you can use a Sanken COS-11D lavalier with the Saramonic UWMIC9 TX9 transmitter, but only if it has a 3.5mm locking connector and a compatible internal wiring configuration. B&H item # SAC11WNSOTRB is a COS-11D with a 3.5mm locking connector that is wired for use with Sony UWP transmitters, and it will also work with a Saramonic UWMIC9 TX9 because the internal wiring configuration and the connector are the same for both Saramonic and Sony.

Q: 5. Curious if people are actually using the included lav mics? My initials tests were quite disappointing compared with a better mic, but maybe others have better experience? It seems they need a lot of gain to get any audible signal at all.

A: You can upgrade the mics to higher quality mics if you choose. Look for locking 1/8" mics that are wired for Sennheiser. That said to upgrade to a mic that is a significant upgrade you are looking at mics that are over $200-350 each, two of those is the same price or more than this entire system.

Q: 6. Can the Saramonic UwMic9 work with the Sony Fx6?

A: Yes, you definitely can use the Saramonic UwMic9 Wireless Lavalier Microphone System with the Sony FX6 camera.

Q: 7. Just curious...will a Saramonic wireless transmitter (freq 530MHz for example) work with a Sennheiser receiver set to same freq.?

A: No, you typically can not mix different brands of wireless transmitters and receivers, so you would not be able to combine a Saramonic transmitter with a Sennheiser receiver, even if both are set to the same frequency.

Q: 8. I have the Sony FD AX100 camcorder and am looking to run 2 wireless lapel microphones. I have just one input jack. Will this system allow me to do this?

A: Works great!

Q: 9. Can I run a total of 4 transmitters with 2 receivers into a camcorder that has 2 mic inputs, since the receivers are designed to work with 2 transmitters each?

A: Yes, you can use two Saramonic UwMic9 dual-mic wireless systems at the same time with your camcorder by connecting the output of each dual-channel receiver to a separate mic input on the camera. This will allow you to use four transmitters simultaneously.

Q: 10. can you lock out the mute function on the transmitters?

A: Yes, you can lock the transmitter so the device can not be turned off or muted.

Extremely pleased with this purchase. I purchased for capturing quick, on-the-go soundbites w/my iPhone setup and this proved to be perfect for that. Very simple to set up, and yields great audio quality. Highly recommend. FYI, if you are recording via your iPhone, you will need to purchase the Rode SC15 cable separately.

I also have the first version and this are an amazing add to your audio visual equipment.
They are portable, they have a good range and amazing sound quality.
The fact that you can also record the audio in the devise and the possibility to have two mics with only one receiver makes them really convenient

I used it in a indoor setting where I was about 100ft from the subject I was filming and the connection was great. I did not have anything in between us like a wall, there were a lot of people in between but I had no issue with it.
I also used it for some interviews. The audio level to the camera with the 3.5 jack comes in hot, smartest thing to do is to lower your camera volume all the way down, and then adjust the -db from the receiver. This is the way to not pick up white noise.

The app is very simple and easy to use.

I'm so happy it has internal recording. If the signal were to ever drop, and you have the transmitters settings to record always, you won't have to worry about losing that portion of the recording. You can recover the full recording after on your computer from the transmitter.

For the interviews I used the Rode Lavalier Go Professional-Grade mics. It sounded great. Very happy with this set. I used to use the tascam DR-10L but now I'm using this system instead.

Rode has thought of everything with this incredible audio solution. The versatility that this set-up provides, the quality of audio it delivers, the way it takes filmmaking and video production on hybrid cameras to the next level, is nothing less than game-changing - and I usually hate that phrase because it's so over-used. But it is certainly true in this case. Great work, Rode!
