A: If you are looking for a professional photo editing monitor, while some can go higher, the brightness will ultimately have an effect on how accurate the image is when you are looking at it. For example, if you have an Adobe RGB workflow, the recommended target brightness to properly display that color space is 160 nits which is much lower than what most people might think.
