Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hı , can this microphone be connected to Asio sound interface to record directly to computer?

A: Unfortunately no, because this microphone uses a TA4F connector, it is meant to be specifically hooked up to a Shure wireless body pack that accepts this type of connector. There are ways around this, but I would suggest using a different microphone that has a standard TRS or XLR connector.

Q: 2. Will this plug into a Shure blx1 h10 wireless transmitter?

A: Yes, the Shure PGA31 uses a TA4 connector which is compatible with the VLX1 transmitter.

Q: 3. I want to find a way to run Shure MX412's wirelessly using my existing Sennheiser G3 wireless belt pack transmitter combos. I tried to use Whirlwind 4x Phantom Power blocks but they introduced too much line noise to be useful. Any suggestion?

A: I would consider getting the Sennheiser SKP 300 G3 transmitter which will provide 48 volts of phantom power for your MX412. This way you will not be introducing additional electronics to your audio chain, potentially causing line noise.

Q: 4. What is the easiest and most lightweight way to use this microphone with a Sony A7S III camera? Which additional products would I need to buy?

A: To connect the Shure MX185 - Cardioid Wired Lavalier Microphone to a camera input such as that found on the Sony a7S III Mirrorless Camera, an adapter such as the Sony XLR-K3M Dual-Channel Digital XLR Audio Adapter (BH #SOXLRK3M) could be used to interface with the camera's Multi Interface Shoe. Alternatively, a camera mixer such as the Beachtek DXA-MICRO-PRO Active XLR Compact Adapter (BH #BEDXAMICROP) could be used to receive and power the MX185 over XLR connection and send signal into the a7S via its 3.5mm input.

Q: 5. Is it adjustable for the size of a 6-year old kid's head? if not can you suggest a headset for this age . many thanks.Bennet

A: We actually bought these microphones for a children's play to avoid entrusting 6 year olds to $400 countrymans. They are flexible, but there's no actual adjustment. We didn't have any fit issues with our kids though, and they worked perfectly for our application.

Q: 6. What are the cable's connections?

A: The MX396 is supplied without a connector. Typically, an installer will use phoenix block-type connectors or XLR connectors on the cable. It is OK to separate the cable wires out to three separate XLR connectors.

Q: 7. I need a microphone mixer with two xlr inputs. Any suggestions?

A: BH #ALM4USBFXPTX

Q: 8. For grand piano, does this sound better with one or two Beta 91A microphones?

A: One Shure Beta 91A Boundary Microphone is all you need to mic a grand piano.

Q: 9. How heavy is the base? Will it stay in place even if the podium is slightly tilted?

A: Not very heavy at all. The overall weight of the entire microphone is less than 18 ounces. The chances of the microphone moving out of place if the podium is tilted is extremely high, unless the MX412DC is fastened or secured with velcro.

Q: 10. Is the Beta91A manufactured in Mexico or China ?

A: The Shure Beta 91A Boundary Microphone is manufactured in Mexico.
