The cocoa Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Earset Mic, Standard Gain with Detachable 2mm Cable and TA4F Connector for Shure Wireless Transmitters is a vocal microphone with a soft, flexible boom that facilitates its adjustment for different users. It's built with a larger silicone rubber earpiece making it better suited for situations when multiple users share the same mic.

The E6i earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6i earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the highest gain for general speaking such as presentations or sermons. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6i earset's cable terminates to a TA4F connector for direct connection to Shure AD1, ADX1, AXT100TA4F, GLXD1, PGXD1, QLXD1, and ULXD1 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6i is soft and highly flexible with a larger silicone rubber ear piece. When multiple users share a mic, the E6i is a great choice. The soft boom is durable and the flexibility makes it easy to adjust for different users.

The E6i's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6i earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6i earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the overall life of the battery before it stops holding a charge?

A: Shure hasn't provided details on the 903, however, below is what Shure says about the 900 series: Shure Contact: Toll Free Phone (U.S. only): 1-800-516-2525 An accurate estimate is elusive as it depends upon multiple variables, such as storage temperature, storage capacity, actual usage, etc. Shure estimates that a single SB900 may have a maximum of up to 500 pro-rated cycles. One full cycle is the complete discharge of the SB900, followed by complete charge to "full." As an example: the SB900 has a "expected battery life cycle" of about 12 hours. If the SB900 is used for 4 hours, then charged charged to "full" after each 4 hour use, it would take 3 usages to equal a 1 full cycle. "4 hours" times "3 uses" = 12. A Shure customer reports using the SB900 for 170 hours of operation and the battery indicates a health rating of 97%.

Q: 6. which Mic is better for talk, the shure beta87a or the shure Beta58A?

A: This is very dependent on the person who will be using it and also the area you will be using it in. Female vocals will sound very different than male vocals. Regardless on the frequency response alone, the Beta87a being a condenser it will give you much more clarity and more definition for speech. where the Beta58a will give you a more well rounded sound and will be better in louder environments. It very much depends on who and where you will be using these microphones.

Many customers also use these mics with devices such as portable audio recorders and even cameras/camcorders. in this case you would require an adapter as well. The Kopul LMT100 is a popular choice.

Q: 10. what kind of receiver is needed/advised? Is a separate transmitter needed?

A: The Shure SM63 is not a wireless mic. it will require a cable connection to the source. I can be used wirelessly with purchase of a wireless system such as the Shure FP series.
