The cocoa Countryman E6 Directional Earset Mic, Medium Gain with Detachable 1mm Cable and 6-Pin Hirose Connector for Samson Wireless Transmitters is a vocal microphone with an adjustable boom that weighs less than one tenth of an ounce and is designed to be used by only one person. Once adjusted, it will continually hold this shape.

The E6 earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, directional E6 earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. Additionally, the earset comes with two pattern-changeable protective caps for maximum isolation and gain before feedback. This directional E6 earset's cable terminates to a 6-pin Hirose connector for direct connection to Samson BT3, CT2, TX4, and UT4 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The classic E6 is a good choice when one person will wear the microphone. Because the boom is stiffer, it can be adjusted to fit, then stored away and quickly reworn.

The E6's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6 earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The directional earset protective caps adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid.

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The directional E6 earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the transmitter work OK when covered by a dress suit coat, or does it have to be unexposed?

A: We have found that most of the time the transmitter has to be exposed in order to properly work. Depending on how far away you are and also how thick the cloth is.

Q: 2. Can it pair with Samson XPD1 Handheld Mic?

A: Yes it can.

Q: 3. Can the XP106 system be mounted on a speaker stand?

A: Absolutely. You may consider the Samson LS40 (B&H# SALS40) portable speaker stand as an option to do so.

Q: 4. I see a lot of mention of use outdoors in the reviews, but I do public speaking in libraries (inside) and other buildings. Will it work well inside buildings?

A: This unit works great, both indoors and out. You will probably have the volume knob well under halfway in most indoor spaces.

Q: 5. Can this be used with hands free mirophone that would attach to a lapel and not over the ear?

A: In addition to the wireless mic included with the XP106w the unit also features an additional XLR mic input jack. You can connect a separately available wireless system through this jack such as the Samson Samson UM1/77. a href= http://bhpho.to/1FTCUON target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1FTCUON/a

Q: 6. can i add more than one wireless speaker? I need to be able to add up to 6.

A: According to the manual only a powered speaker can be added by using a 1/4 inch instrument cable. Either that or the unit can be linked to another system of the same kind.

Q: 7. Would it be possible to get a second xpd1 and a usb hub to have 2 wireless lapel microphones going at the same time? Or would I need to find another wireless lapel mic transmitter/receiver and put it in one of the secondary inputs?

A: Unfortunately you cannot add an additional mic to this system. You can only use the one it comes with.

Q: 8. can it be used with a stand?

A: Yes. You may use the Samson LS40 Lightweight Speaker Stands (B&H#SALS40 ) designed for Samson Expedition Portable PAs.

Q: 9. Can it be paired with a Samson airline micro wireless ear set.

A: No, the AirLine works in a completely different frequency range. With this receiver you would use the PXD1 bodypack transmitter with a headset mic.

Q: 10. what is batter life and how long does it take to recharge?

A: The XP106 has an internal, rechargeable battery capable of up to 20 hours of continuous audio on a full charge. Even though the system may have some charge when first taken out of the box, we recommend fully charging your XP106 before first using the system. An overnight charge as with a cell phone should be fine. FYI, The XP106 utilizes a sealed lead-acid gel cell battery. When not in use, the battery will slowly self-discharge. If you are planning not to use the XP106 for a long period of time, it is advised to fully charge the unit before storing. It is also important to charge the unit every six months when not used. This will ensure a healthy battery and extend its life. If the battery is left with a very low charge for an extended period of time, it is possible to recharge thebattery to working condition, but the charge time can take over 24 hours.
