Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I power this with an PoE injector? Don't have cabling where I need unit

A: Yes, you can power the Ubiquiti Networks UniFi UVC-G5-FLEX 4MP Network Camera with Night Vision with a PoE injector.

Q: 2. If I power with just a PoE injector, the data can transmit via WiFi to my UniFi network?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks UniFi UVC-G5-FLEX 4MP Network Camera connects and powers over the POE connection. The camera is not a wireless model. It does not support Wi-Fi. Ubiquiti Networks U-POE-af Passive PoE Adapter B&H # UPOEAF

Q: 3. I currently have a DE series 3mp PTZ that works very well, would anyone know if this camera is comparable in optics quality and or features and performance?

A: This camera will be a little better in viewing since the 3 MP cameras send out a 4:3 aspect ratio video signal whereas the 4 MP will send out a 16:9 wider aspect ratio.

Q: 4. Does is has Patrol mode and Presets?, how many hours it can store in 128 GB? Intrusion area and line crossing?

A: There is no specific patrol mode but it does have 300 presets. It does have intrusion are and line crossing detection. With a 128GB micro SD card with H.265+ compression, 4MP and 24 fps it will store about 5 days of continuous recording.

Q: 5. Is the audio in for mic level or line level? The "white" wire is for audio in, but I don't find anything that give specifics

A: Audio Input: When an intercom is connected to this camera, you need to set this option to Line In . When a microphone is connected to the camera, you need to set this option to Mic In.

Q: 6. would it be possible to mount this camera in place of our Axis M5525 camera wall mount?

A: The Hikvision DS-2DE4A425IW-DE 4MP Outdoor PTZ Network Dome Camera with Night Vision will be very similar in size as the Axis M5525. However, the mounting holes will be different. It would be better to get a Hikvision approved mount for the camera.

Q: 7. Can this camera be set at 1080 - 60 frames per second?

A: 30 fps is the highest shutter speed for video.

Q: 8. I live at the end of a cul-de-sac and look directly down the street. Will this camera be able to read a license plate at about 120 feet, also will the night vision be sufficient at this distance. Does camera track people? Only one review on this camera makes it very hard to know exactly what this camera is capable of. Any additional information would be appreciated

A: It will depend on the speed of the vehicle. Very slow moving vehicles should capture the plate. However, please keep in mind that you will need to have the image zoomed in so that the license plate takes up the entire image.

Q: 9. I don't see the LED's, are they in the black ring above the dome? If so, how well do they work?

A: I am sorry we are unable to make this comparison for you.

Q: 10. why is my firmware version newer than what is showing on the Hikvision website?

A: Please make sure you are using the Hikvision USA website when searching for firmware.

I bought these to replace seven Samsung cameras that I had purchased and installed throughout our house over the years. Aggravatingly, Samsung decided they were no longer going to support those cameras in their app. I didn't want to spend a fortune on the more popular brands or pay for a monthly subscription for replacement cameras. After much research, I settled on these since they were a great price with no monthly subscription for the features that I want. And surprisingly they also capture very clear and sharp videos - much better than the old Samsung cameras. Very pleased with these cameras!

(One small issue was that the old Samsung cameras had stands that would tilt and allowed me to place them on top of bookshelves angling steeply down to capture video of a room. These Kasa cameras are on a fixed base, although they do pan down, just not enough to capture the view that the old Samsung cameras did. However, they do pan up quite quite steeply, so I solved the problem by building a mounting device that allowed the cameras to be flipped upside down so I could still set them where the old cameras were and pan them up instead of down to capture the views that I needed. The app then allows you to flip the image and all is well!)

I've been incredibly happy with this camera. The app has a ton of features that are useful and the setup has been the easiest experience (different cameras I've purchased more than a year ago from other manufacturers were far more challenging to setup).
I love being able to save pan locations on different cameras and I really appreciate that you can look at a timeframe and it highlights motion activity so I can jump to those time periods quickly.

These are very nice, reliable tilt / rotate indoor cameras at a good price point. They are color daytime with B&W infrared night vision and come equipped with speaker and microphone. The Kasa phone / tablet app is pretty easy to use and has a lot of advanced features. You do need to add a memory card if you want to record, but they are inexpensive these days. We have these in many internal areas of our house and garage and have recently set some up in my wife's elderly parents home to keep an eye on things and to be able to assist them when in need.
