This Tensioned Advantage Deluxe Electrol 16:10 Wide Format Motorized Projection Screen from Da-Lite has a 57.5 x 92.0" viewing area with a DA-Mat flame retardant and mildew-resistant finish.

This is a smooth, white, and flexible finish with a 1.1 Gain rating and 60° (L/R) viewing angle that displays little loss of resolution. DA-Mat is a good choice where the ambient light in the room is controllable. If the finish becomes soiled, it can be cleaned with mild soap and water. Tensioning on each side of the seamless fabric assures a flat, undistorted surface that eliminates any chance of a skewed image. This finish comes with black backing for opacity and standard black masking borders.

One of the major advantages of this screen is that the fabric roller can either be factory installed or at your chosen location after the ceiling recessed, UL Plenum rated extruded aluminum white housing has been roughed in. The enables you to finish the initial installation but choose your screen finish at a later date.

The screen includes two motors; one for the ceiling door and one for the fabric. The interior roller features a quick reversal motor, oiled for life, with automatic thermal overload cutout, integral gears, capacitor, and an electric brake to prevent coasting when the screen is stopped at a chosen length. The built-in Low Voltage Control controls up/down and stop functions using the included 12VDC three-position switch that can be wall mounted where convenient. It can also be operated from an optional radio frequency, infrared or auxiliary transmitter.

Q: 1. Will this lens work with my Pentax K-S2 camera?

A: Yes it works!!!!!!!!!

Q: 2. I see this is for a mirrorless camera, but a KAF mount. Will it work with my K-3II? Thanks Jeremy

A: Unfortunately this lens is only designed to work on the Pentax K-01 mirrorless camera.

Q: 3. Can you please tell me if this lens will fit and function normally on a Pentax iST DS ?

A: Yes, this lens is fully compatible with the Pentax iST* DS camera.

Q: 4. All other references to this specific screen (including manufacturer website) list the screen gain as 0.8, not 0.95. Can someone please confirm which is correct and if this is the latest/most updated version of this product?

A: Thank you for he heads up on this. We defer to the manufacturer's specifications and will update our own webpage sa soon as possible. We apologize for this inconvenience. Thanks again for making B&H a better place to shop!

Q: 5. Can you use this lens in the rain like a WR lens or is the SP coating not strong enough?

A: I would never use this lens in the rain. If I had it out and it started misting I'd point the camera down (and I'd be using a rain-resistant Pentax, probably my K5-iis), but if it didn't quit or if it got worse I'd put the camera & lens in my camera bag. I would take a WR lens on days I thought it might rain, or simply be prepared to put the camera away if i was using a lens like the 35mm DAL. I have never had good luck taking photos in the rain anyway. I've done it and some of them are worth saving, but none were great. If I needed to be out on a rainy day I'd probably use my 18-135WR or perhaps the 18-55WR. As to the SP coating, I don't think that has anything to do with rain resistance. Lawrence

Q: 6. Should I use a lens hood with this lens?

A: Keeping flare or ghosting light away from a lens's front element is always a good idea. Here is an affordable shade. Sensei PRO 49mm Aluminum Lens Hood B&H # SELHM49.

Q: 7. Will this lens work on an older Pentax film body such as a P3 or an MZ-50? I know the fstop needs to be set by the camera, and that the focal length will be, I presume, 35mm, I'm just concerned about the mount and connection with the contact info.

A: It will definitely heavy heavy vignetting. The lens is designed to cover the 18-24mm aps-c sensor size not the 24-36mm full frame of 35mm film. The corners of the images will be very dark.

Q: 8. Can I put in wall speakers behind this screen?

A: This screen is not designed as one of those perforated screens for sound. I have not put speakers behind it but if you are wanting to do that for convenience its sound transparency is not bad. If you are a true audiophile wanting the most optimized sound then this screen is NOT designed or ideal for this purpose.

Q: 9. Is it compatible with Pentax K,-r ??????

A: Yes it is compatible with the K-R.

Q: 10. Does this lens have manual mode or is it just automatic for the aperture?

A: This is not an ancient lens. Aperture is set within your DSLR Camera settings for this particular lense. Your DSLR mostly like has a manual mode.

With the removable hood this fisheye is more full frame friendly than the older version but both versions are great lenses…and has been stated by others a range of perspectives can be achieved from full fisheye to a straight up wide angle effect

I have had this lens for about a month and still learning its capabilities. It produces photos with great IQ and the color rendition is phenomenal (as is with most Pentax glass). Focus is fast and accurate. Practically speaking, I've used it for sports and most recently portraits. I'm really looking forward to more outings and sessions as I learn adjust to the capabilities this lens provides. I'll let the portrait images attached speak for the lens.

I have had both versions of the 16-50 DA*. When the new PLM version came out I had to try it.

I had used the previous SDM version for years and had multiple lenses where the auto focus eventually failed after about 4-6 months of use (even after repair). The SDM auto focus, when working, was also slow and not very accurate. Only about 60-70% of images were in good focus.

I have used my new PLM version for about 9 months now with no issues. The new motor is much faster, and the auto focus is much more accurate. I have it paired with the K-3 III and am very happy with the image quality. Hopefully it will stand the test of time as it is one of my most used lenses.

This is one of the best Pentax lens made and worth the price.
This lens is so quiet that at first I thought something was wrong, it was so quiet. And it is very accurate with my K3 Mk3. I have not tried it yet with my KP. The focal range is great for only having to carry two lenses, this one and either the 50-135 or 55-300 PLM.
I use it mostly for landscapes and portraits, and some low-light photos.
There are two negatives about the lens, it is expensive and a little heavy and large.

I read many reviews before buying this lens, and there are so few negative comments made about it. Most aspects of this lens are indeed perfect.

It’s rugged, built like a tank and will undoubtedly last many years. When you handle it, you know you’re using a premium product.

Also, I don’t mind the size & weight: it makes me feel like I’m doing something.

Autofocus is snappy fast, super quiet, and accurate on the K3-III—the best I’ve experienced with a DSLR. And far superior to any of the Pentax Limiteds I’ve tried.

With no exaggeration, the central sharpness is exemplary—on par with lenses I’ve paid twice this much for. (I’m thinking of the Canon 24-70 RF L.)

The corners are a bit soft through f/8. For apertures larger than or equal to f/5.6, this is completely okay with me. Soft corners at these apertures adds a character that I mostly appreciate. By f/11, there is substantial improvement--enough to render it sufficient for landscapes after a bump or two to the sharpening slider in Lightroom. But I expect a bit better at this price point. For comparison, the Pentax 20-40mm Limited lens is actually sharper in the corners at all common configurations but is not quite as sharp at the center for any configuration.

Ultimately, this lens is perfect for most of my needs. I suspect it will remain on my camera more than any other.

Just got this and am knocked out by the quality of the images, at all focal lengths.......sharp, crisp with almost no distortion.....

Is this a low weight plastic affair?....No.....This is a full size constant aperture with the best materials. That adds weight and size. If you know this and want super images....this is a great choice........

BTW...as far as the zoom only going to 50MM...you add a lot of weight and size to go beyond that...the laws of physics have not been repealed....and we can all just crop a 50mm image to get most of what we want.......

(Finally, stay away from F22...this is good advice for all zooms)...

I have the older Pentax 10-17 I have enjoyed a lot. This upgraded version has better coating so less flare when shooting with sun near the image Also the lens cap is improved so it twist and snaps on and it is very unlikely to fal off accidentally like the lens cap on the older version
