A: It's about 14 inches and it is fairly heavy. I use this to mount a projector with a projector mount. It has been working very well for over a year now.

A: You could mount them to a 14' ceiling. Camera settings will determine how well they work at that distance. We do not offering an installation service at this time.

A: Pedro, the Light Shed is really great but you should order it stand alone and buy LED lighting kit. The light burn out too fast and are expensive to replace. LED will work much longer, less heat and with more control.

Q: 5. What's the advantages to getting the mini over the other SSL lights?

A: If you were looking for a very small fixture for use very close and need the most compact option that is when you might consider the mini over the other options.

Q: 6. Exact size of the tent?

A: 21 x 21 x 38 Good tent for smaller objects.

Q: 7. From the pictures, it looks like it has zippers on the sides -- do these show up in photos?

A: Generally, the zipper cannot be seen in the photos. However, that can depend on the angle at which you are shooting and how reflective the item in the tent would be.

Q: 8. Is there a grid you could recommend for this?

A: There is not a grid/egg crate made for the Genaray SSL-36B Soft Strip Bi-Color LED Light (4 x 36")

Q: 9. how do I mount a photo strobe on it? Specifically the ALIEN B800 OR B1600

A: Unfortunately, this stand uses a bolt which normally connects to a yoke mounted light. A stand which can be used with an Alien Bees monolight is the Impact Folding Wheeled Base Stand (Black/Chrome-plated, 8.5'), B&H # IMLSPSFB8. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 10. Are other colored sweeps with the touch tabs available? Particularly dark blue.

A: There are a few other brands of backgrounds that work with Velcro like the Impact models.This one uses clips but you should be able to attach MyStudio Color backgrounds.The next one is a bit larger but you should be able to attach it in the shooting tent. That is the Smith-Victor 28.
