Q: 1. I just ordered these lights and it say it is WiFi enabled, but right now I am doing a little research before it arrives and people are saying you need to connect it to a WiFi dongle? This must be coming with the kit if they are not saying WiFi controlled with OPTIONAL WiFi dongle correct? Please let this be the case or it is a gross oversight.

A: You do need the CAME-TV Boltzen Wi-Fi Controller B&H # CABZWIFI in order to use these Wi-Fi with the Came TV mobile app.

Q: 2. Do these lights work with the NP-F975 battery that is a recommended accessory, or do you have to connect to a V-mount battery via the D-Tap cable?

A: They work with either NP-F type or V-mount batteries, or the included AC adapters. The NP-F type battery plugs directly into the back of the light. The V-mount attaches using the included D-tap cable and optional CAME-TV V-Lock Plate with Clamp. I use V-mount batteries because they last a lot longer and the weight is at the bottom of the stand, so it's much more stable. For example the Watson NP-F975 will last around 105 minutes each, whereas my 165 wH V-mount batteries will last 5 hours each. With 2 V-mount batteries for each light, I can leave them on for 10 hours, which means I never have to worry about charging on set. Also with the weight of 2 V-mount batteries at the bottom of each stand, I rarely need to use sandbags.

A: They are daylight balanced only but they come with a CTO filter that attaches to the front of the lens.

At 20, it would work as a soft spot for your background usage needs. You may use a standard C-47 clothespin to clip a colored filter gel onto the barndoors on the front of the CAME-TV Boltzen 55W Focusable Fresnel Daylight LED Light.
