The light beige Countryman E6 Directional Earset Mic, Medium Gain with Detachable 2mm Cable and 3.5mm Connector for Comtek Wireless Transmitters is a vocal microphone with an adjustable boom that weighs less than one tenth of an ounce and is designed to be used by only one person. Once adjusted, it will continually hold this shape.

The E6 earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, directional E6 earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. Additionally, the earset comes with two pattern-changeable protective caps for maximum isolation and gain before feedback. This directional E6 earset's cable terminates to a 3.5mm connector for direct connection to Comtek M-72 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The classic E6 is a good choice when one person will wear the microphone. Because the boom is stiffer, it can be adjusted to fit, then stored away and quickly reworn.

The E6's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6 earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The directional earset protective caps adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid.

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The directional E6 earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What does the back of the unit look like? Would it fit a Blackmagic VA or Micro Cinema Camera?

A: Yes the lp-e6 dummy battery would fit onto a Blackmagic Video Assist or Micro Cinema Camera. This unit is intended to be used with a Core SWX Power Base V-mount battery. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1403151-REG/core_swx_pb_edge_powerbase_edge_small_form.html

Q: 2. Will this work with canon 5d mark iii?

A: Yes it should. The Canon 5D Mark III uses LP-E6 style batteries.

Q: 3. The Canon EOS R5 C is listed as a compatible camera. Does this adapter supply the correct current and voltage to enable the use of the recording modes requiring a power source other than the standard Canon LP-E6NH battery (e.g. 8K RAW at 60p)?

A: The Anton Bauer Regulated P-Tap to LP-E6 Dummy Battery Cable (20") (B&H# ANPCRDLEB) is indeed for any current (as of April 2022) camera that accepts the Canon LP-E6, LP-E6N, or LP-E6NH battery for power. That includes the Canon EOS R5 C Mirrorless Cinema Camera (B&H# CAER5C). However, as you have noted, the R5 C requires an additional power in order to shoot video in some modes. That electricity (which must be high power and typically PD-compliant) must be provided through the USB C port. Since this cable connects to the battery chamber (rather than to the USB C port) it will not provide any power there at all and therefore cannot enable high power shooting modes.

Q: 4. Does it support Nikon DSLRs? I don't see any Nikons listed in the compatibility list!

A: Yes it does, but there are different packages for different cameras and you need to stipulate which you want. It wasn't clear on the site and I got the wrong one to start with. FYI, you can also use it with the TriggerTrap app. It's cheaper and no different.

Q: 5. Is the voltage regulator located within the dummy battery, or as an in-line cable regulator?

A: This is not listed as a regulated adapter. For a regulated option we suggest the IndiPRO Tools D-Tap to LP-E6 Dummy Battery Cable (30"), B&H # INPTLPD. https://bhpho.to/34wv4Nc

Q: 6. Can I buy additional reciever to pair up and have a total connections of 3 receiver to 1 transmitter?

A: Yes, you can pair multiple receivers to use with one transmitter. Just be sure to set each receiver to the same frequency as the transmitter. The Comtek PR-216 Beltpack IFB Receiver included with this system is available separately as B&H# COPR216.

Q: 7. Will this power my Átomos Ninja Assassin?

A: It will not. This is an LP-E6 dummy battery. The Atomos Ninja Assassin is powered through Sony L Style batteries. Instead you would need a dummy battery like BH #INPTS74 with a Sony L Dummy Battery. https://bhpho.to/2Etyy8E

Q: 8. Is this a coiled cable or not? Answers are mixed in this Q&A...

A: The following cable is not coiled and is a straight line cable.

Q: 9. can i use this to power my blckmagic micro cinema camera?

A: You should be able to use this D-tap cable to connect and power your BMD Micro Cinema Camera from a battery with a D-Tap port. This cable has a Canon LP-E6 style dummy battery, which is the kind of battery the Micro Cinema Camera uses.

Q: 10. will this work with an XA 25 ?

A: No, this is for Canon DSLRs.
