Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi, I was wondering if it will hold three einsteins, a mini vagabond, triggers, couple of speed light, cables and maybe few misc. stuff or will it be too small?

A: While this case would be too small for the equipment you wish to place in it, the Pelican 1670 Case with Foam (Black) B&H # PE1670FB would have a better fit. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 2. What are the dimensions of this case?

A: Exterior Dimensions 30.8 x 20.5 x 11.6" / 78.2 x 52.1 x 29.5 cm Interior Dimensions 28.5 x 17.4 x 10.5" / 72.4 x 44.2 x 26.7 cm

Q: 3. Whilst I am confident of the durability of the case itself, is the foam enough padding to protect DSLRs and lens from rough handling at an airport? Eg if the case was thrown/dropped by baggage handlers, will camera bodies and lens be unaffected?

A: Yes this would protect the equipment inside very well, I would recommend leaving roughly 1-2 inches of foam around the outside just for peace of mind, but I have had no issues with any of my equipment being damaged with these rolling through airports.

Q: 4. Will it fit a phantom 4 with all the accessories?

A: I just looked up the specs and based on what I found I think it would barely fit the drone by itself. I would recommend the pelican 1560 instead as it should comfortably fit both the phantom 4 and any extras you need.

Q: 5. does Pelican 1560 series meets FAA Carry On regulation ??! ... i'm considering 1560 series because it's have more room compared with 1510 series to fit all my gears ...

A: The maximum size carry-on bag for most airlines is 45 linear inches (the total of the height, width, and depth of the bag). Anything larger should be checked. No oversize packages or luggage can be stowed onboard. The total for this Pelican is 50.4 per my in-head calculation. On big jets you might get lucky. On small connection planes even bags that come under FAA regulation carry on dimensions may not fit. Best solution is to note the actual model of plane that you book for each flight and cross reference that particular aircraft's overhead bin dimensions. It's better to use a Pelican even if it gets pulled from you prior to boarding--if you purchase a soft case and it gets pulled, you lack the hard case protection. Stipulations for compensation due to damage during transportation stress that materials must be in a hard case, and for items in soft cases airlines will categorically deny you compensation.

Q: 6. What is the difference between the foam kit option and the foam set option other than pricing?

A: Both kits come with the same case and foam set. The B&H Pelican 1650 Case with Foam Set, TSA Lock, Desiccant Gel (B&H Kit) has an additional discount and 2 free accesories but the warranty is serve by B&H for 1 year. The Pelican 1650 Case with Foam (Black) has the Limited Lifetime Warranty serve by the manufacture.

Q: 7. Can this fit 2 (TWO) Godox Dp400III strobes? (B&H# GODP400III)

A: Yes, the Pelican 1650NF Case without Foam is large enough to hold two of the Godox DP400III 400Ws Professional Studio Flash.

Q: 8. Given the dimensions I plan to keep both Nikon 800mm and the Nikon 400mm f2.8 in the case. Will they both fit. To keep these two less should I go for this case or 1615 tp case

A: I would recommend the 1650 case.

Q: 9. How many pro series zoom and primes along with flashes etc can I fit? How many have you fit?

A: 2 Nikon D5 bodies; 1 D810 body; 14-24; 24-70; 70-200; 200-400; 3 SB910 flashes; 24 f1.4; 58 f/1.4; 80 f/1.4; 180 f/2.8. I also have the top lid organizer which holds a flash meter, batteries for both D5 and D810 cameras; tools, lens backs and camera body caps, notepads, pens and other small items. It holds a lot of stuff. This is in the back of my car, secured with a padlock and cabled to the D hooks attached to the body of the car.

Q: 10. I purchased this unit about a year ago. I use it to store my equipment. My question is as follows. The place where I keep the unit is on the other side of the wall of the bathroom. There are heating pipes not far away and they too are behind a wall and under the floor. The relative humidity is about 70% most of the time, and there is little air movement ( I have boxes near and around the pelican). I do not live in a very high humidity location (Canada), and I rarely open the storage unit. I also never take my equipment out in rainy or cold days and I wipe off the equipment with a towel and blow brush after each use. Do I risk mold and mildew on my equipment based upon the above noted information? I understand that that this pelican is air and water tight. Should I be concerned? Thanks.

A: There should be no issue with the gear inside the Pelican but you can also add silica gel to be certain.

I spent a couple hours trying to pick the best one of these folding-leg stands before selecting this one. Now I have it so I want to help other buyers make an informed decision. My need was for a stand to hold my keyboard and trackpad while standing in front of a screen raised up on a pneumatic arm. My five-star rating is for my use and I note where people with other needs might have a different experience.* The platform is metal, sturdy, attractive. I prefer the holes to the fans that some other trays have because I don't have a laptop on it. The platform can be used with either side 'up' and the depth of the lip is a little different on each side which is good for different kinds of uses. (I use the side which most people would probably call the 'bottom', according to the illustrations on the web page.)* The legs are the exact same plastic legs found on many other models from other brands. Each joint swivels all the way around and locks tightly in place. I can imagine them being a bit annoying for people who want to change the angles frequently but my use does not require me to do that; I just set it and forget it, so I didn't mark the rating down for that.* I can imagine a person who puts a laptop on this might be annoyed by the screen jiggling during typing, although my guess is that this model is no more or less jiggly than any other. In any case the jiggling is not a problem in my setup so I did not mark down the rating for this.* I specifically chose this model because its legs are longer than other models. I am tall (6'5\) so I needed a tray which would reach up to my hands when I stood in front of my desk. I am pleasantly surprised to say that this one is more than tall enough

Table adjusts to almost any position and is lightweight. It can be used with laptop but I use it for a large bible that has small print. It's a little difficult to push the buttons but I will spray a lubricant on them.

Works great for my needs. I can sit in my recliner and this stand stradle's my legs and rests on the seat. Very stable and very adjustable. I believe that you can adjust this thing to suit your needs for most any position. Adjustments are easy and you can point the legs just about any way you want.

This little guy is great! We were using empty plastic bins to get the right height for Zoom calls with the MAC, just a big hassle. Also using as a standing desk is helpful for the back ache.

Completely adjustable. Many heights and angles. Many uses. Large platform - 10 1/2 X 16.
Small amount of bounce because tray is held from one end. I have a 3 pound laptop on the tray, there is some bounce when I type. I think it will hold up to 10 points, but might droop.
