This Tensioned Advantage Deluxe Electrol 16:10 Wide Format Motorized Projection Screen from Da-Lite has a 100.0 x 160.0" viewing area with a DA-Tex flame retardant and mildew-resistant finish.

DA-Tex is a rear screen, translucent neutral gray finish with a 1.3 Gain rating and 30° (L/R) viewing angle. It is characterized by high transmission and low reflectance values. Color rendition is true and contrast is good. This finish is especially suitable for lace and grommet screens. If the finish becomes soiled, it can be cleaned with mild soap and water. Tensioning on each side of the fabric assures a flat, undistorted surface that eliminates any chance of a skewed image.

One of the major advantages of this screen is that the fabric roller can either be factory installed or at your chosen location after the ceiling recessed, UL Plenum rated extruded aluminum white housing has been roughed in. The enables you to finish the initial installation but choose your screen finish at a later date.

The screen includes two motors; one for the ceiling door and one for the fabric. The interior roller features a quick reversal motor, oiled for life, with automatic thermal overload cutout, integral gears, capacitor, and an electric brake to prevent coasting when the screen is stopped at a chosen length. The built-in Low Voltage Control controls up/down and stop functions using the included 12VDC three-position switch that can be wall mounted where convenient. It can also be operated from an optional radio frequency, infrared or auxiliary transmitter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work on my old Asahi Pentax K-1000?

A: No. It will mount and you can manually focus, but youd have no aperture control. This lens has no aperture ring and is meant solely for electronically controlled cameras. I still have my old K-1000a fine camera!

Q: 2. Will this lens work on an older Pentax film body such as a P3 or an MZ-50? I know the fstop needs to be set by the camera, and that the focal length will be, I presume, 35mm, I'm just concerned about the mount and connection with the contact info.

A: It will definitely heavy heavy vignetting. The lens is designed to cover the 18-24mm aps-c sensor size not the 24-36mm full frame of 35mm film. The corners of the images will be very dark.

Q: 3. Can you use this lens in the rain like a WR lens or is the SP coating not strong enough?

A: I would never use this lens in the rain. If I had it out and it started misting I'd point the camera down (and I'd be using a rain-resistant Pentax, probably my K5-iis), but if it didn't quit or if it got worse I'd put the camera & lens in my camera bag. I would take a WR lens on days I thought it might rain, or simply be prepared to put the camera away if i was using a lens like the 35mm DAL. I have never had good luck taking photos in the rain anyway. I've done it and some of them are worth saving, but none were great. If I needed to be out on a rainy day I'd probably use my 18-135WR or perhaps the 18-55WR. As to the SP coating, I don't think that has anything to do with rain resistance. Lawrence

Q: 4. Should I use a lens hood with this lens?

A: Keeping flare or ghosting light away from a lens's front element is always a good idea. Here is an affordable shade. Sensei PRO 49mm Aluminum Lens Hood B&H # SELHM49.

Q: 5. Does this lens have manual mode or is it just automatic for the aperture?

A: This is not an ancient lens. Aperture is set within your DSLR Camera settings for this particular lense. Your DSLR mostly like has a manual mode.

Q: 6. Please clarify, both in the reviews and Q&A users have said they have used this lens on aps dsrl´s, nevertheless staff members said it´s only good for mirrorless cameras. I am confused, are we talking about two different 40mm lenses? Or it is intended for the mirroless K-01 but still works on a dslr? I intend to use it with a Pentax K10d. Thanks for your time.

A: Hi, this lens is compatible with the Pentax K10d.

Q: 7. 8 X 10 Matted work - will it fit within this fame. Need to retain mat signed by artist? Yes question, thanks. Won't fit in Frames I've tried in stores

A: you don't have much room here. if your matt is thicker than what we usually see then it will not fit. I believe a Framatic frame has a very similar look plust far more room for a thicker mat.

Q: 8. I see this is for a mirrorless camera, but a KAF mount. Will it work with my K-3II? Thanks Jeremy

A: Unfortunately this lens is only designed to work on the Pentax K-01 mirrorless camera.

Q: 9. Will this lens fit my k20?

A: Yes, this will fit your Pentax K20 perfectly. Furthermore, any K-mount lens will fit your K20, including very old manual ones that were made for film. Have fun!

Q: 10. Can you please tell me if this lens will fit and function normally on a Pentax iST DS ?

A: Yes, this lens is fully compatible with the Pentax iST* DS camera.
