Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the difference between "NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II" and "NiSi MC Close-Up Lens 77mm PRO II"?

A: The NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II with 67 and 72mm Step-Up Rings is the newer version. The main difference between that and the Pro model which is older and is discontinued is the NC version has a Nano Coating.

Q: 2. With which Century conversion lenses is this adapter compatible?

A: This works with many Century products; too many to list here. Here are the basic examples: Century 0.8x Wide Angle Converter, Century 0.7x Wide Angle Adapter, Century 0.7x/0.5x Wide Angle Adapter Set, Century 1.6x Tele Converter. Tell us your application and we can get you the suitable item.

Q: 3. Will this 77 mm diopter benefit my Fujinon 16-55 zoom with a 77 mm thread?

A: The NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II with 67 and 72mm Step-Up Rings offers a diopter strength up to +5 stops. If you are looking to use your FUJIFILM XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR Lens as a macro lens, the NiSi Close-Up ring will be an excellent choice when you zoom the lens to 55mm.

Q: 4. Will this convert the 0.7x Wide Angle Converter Lens for Sony HDR-FX1 to a 77mm threaded mount? If not is something available that will convert this wide angle lens to a standard threadmount so that I can put the beast to work with my cine lenses?

A: The Century Precision Optics 0.7x Wide Angle Converter Lens for Sony HDR-FX1 has a bayonet mount. I am unable to find any adapter ring that will enable you to to do that convert that mount to a screw in.Outside of one or two times with small format zooms and close up filters, I have never seen conversion lenses used for cine lenses. What you might consider then is selling your Wide Angle Converter and get an additional lens.

Q: 5. can I use the 77mm lens on a 58mm with a step up ring?

A: Yes, the Sensei PRO 58-77mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring, B&H # SESURPA5877, would be compatible for use with the NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II with 67 and 72mm Step-Up Rings.

Q: 6. how much vignetting would occur on a 82mm filter using a step up ring? unfortunately my sigma 70-200 has 82mm front threads. It wouldn't kill me if I had to crop in a bit to eliminate the vignette.

A: The Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 referenced has a 82mm front threading and you would need a step down ring from 82mm to 77mm to mount the NiSi 77mm Close-Up NC Lens Kit II with 67 and 72mm Step-Up Rings. It is possible that this will vignette slightly.

Q: 7. will this work on Nikon 70-200 2.8 lens?

A: No, for Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 you will need this BH #NIADSFT77105

Q: 8. Does this adapter work with other S5 filter holders? I have the S5 for the Fuji xf8-16 and would like to use it on my other lenses with 77mm filter threads.

A: Yes, this adapter will work on the Nisi S5 Holder for the Fuji XF 81-6mm lens.

Q: 9. What is the difference between the kit and just the step-up ring? I see that both options are for sale

A: The Kase Wolverine Revolution Magnetic Step-Up Ring Kit (67-77mm) comes with inlaid rings which allow the filter to be closer to the lens and allow for an unthreaded magnetic filter to snap on the ring. The Kase Wolverine Revolution Magnetic Step-Up Ring (67-77mm) is just the step-up ring.

Q: 10. Can this be used on other S5 filter holders? I have the S5 for the Fuji 8-16mm lens and would like to use the S5 with my other lenses that have 77mm filter thread.

A: For Fuji 8-16mm you would need , NiSi S5 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring for FUJIFILM 8-16mm Lens
