I was looking for an inexpensive soft light for my TV Production students and stumbled across the GVM LS-P80S light kit. This thing is worth the money. Other than the softbox, it comes with a Bowens mount that allows you to attach things like barn doors, if you so choose. If you are looking for an inexpensive, lightweight, run and gun type of light kit, this is for you.

I'm pretty happy with how easy is the set up and the quality lighting. As a first time user, I couldn't be more satisfied with this product.

This package is beyond description. The lights are exactly what we needed for our church livestreaming and the background kit is a plus. The softbox and umbrella's add to the benefit of not having or purchasing additional diffusers to reduce harsh shadows for video not to mention photography. The customer service at GVMLED is outstanding and they go above and beyond to make sure they provide the support and advice you need. Great value, great service and an awesome product.

These lights are so small but also powerful that they make tight situations amazingly easy! And having everything in one case ready to go makes life much simpler. I unexpectedly needed to front fill light a stage - the compact size and excellent power of these lights allowed me to bounce them low off the white backdrop on the ground to avoid blasting light directly into the everyone's eyes! Great little lights and great kit!

These lights are powerful, pretty color accurate, and lightweight. The stands are pretty much useless but the lights work great and you can pair them with Godox Barndoor/filter kit and the Aputure Fresnel for more functionality. I like Neewer stainless steel light stands for my cheaper lights. 5 stars anyway.

Dont get frustrated about the lightbox if you have not assembled one before. There is a good video online showing you how. That was the only issue. But the quality overall is excellent, works well.. Great value

This is a great light for the price. The output is good and does what it’s supposed to do! Only improvement that could be made is the build quality. But you can’t expect that much for this price.

I've only had this light kit for a couple of days, but from what I've seen so far they are exactly what I hoped they would be. I've been looking at a bunch of COB Led lights and could not pass these up. I'm not sure how you could beat this kit for the price point. They give out a large amount of light for such a small package. I've seen some criticism that they are made of plastic, but I actually see that as a positive because it makes them very light and portable. And the Bowens mount is great because it has a locking mechanism which makes me feel way more comfortable possibly using them as a backlight. I threw on a soft box I had and it fit great and locked in place. I plan on using one with the softbox and the other maybe as a bounce or threw an umbrella. I think they are going to be fantastic for interviews. I also like the fact that the dimmer is very responsive and will go to a very low light, unlike other lights I've used that can be too bright even at it's lowest settings.


This is the 3rd GVM light kit that I own. I have the 560as bi-color flat panels kit and the 800d RGB flat panels kit and I've been very happy with the quality and performance from the GVM products . And this P80S kit is a perfect addition to what I already own.


Overall I think they are perfect for what they are, a no thrills, affordable light kit that packs a lot of punch for the size and price.

B and H is the best! Fast shipping all the way to Barbados and it came untouched and intact. This light is really bright and comparable with the Aputure 120D however it is more than half of the cost and the quality of the light is amazing.

I will definitely be buying a few more!

I just received my GVM L@-p80s with softbox. set it up and I am impressed - for an economy light this one is bright. Much better light with the softbox. Love the Bowens mount so I can change out the softbox with a snoot, barn doors or whatever. Putting together the softbox was...interesting. Not sure I want to do that in front of a client. Well worth it. Stand seems sturdy - not very high compared to other stands but good.
