Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work with the Shure MX412D?

A: Yes, the Shure SLXD3 Digital Plug-On XLR Transmitter is compatible with the Shure MX412D.

Q: 2. Does the mic have a mute button? If not can you mute mics from the receiver?

A: There is no mute button on the transmitter or receiver of the Shure SLXD24D/B58 Dual-Channel Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone System with Beta 58 Capsules. Any muting would need to be done via the mixing desk.

Q: 3. If this A20 mini cannot record 32 bit float as backup AND transmit audio signal to RX on camera at the same time in USA, what alternative products are out there that can do both at the same time?

A: Unfortunately no, there is not currently a comparable option that is capable of recording in 32-bit and transmit over UHF frequencies at the same time. As of January 2023, this is still proprietary technology.

Q: 4. Can we use this with sennheiser G3/G4 receivers ?

A: The Shure SLXD3 Digital Plug-On XLR Transmitter (H55: 514 to 558 MHz), BH # SHSLXD3H55, is not compatible with Sennheiser receivers. Consider: Sennheiser SKP 100 G4 Plug-On Transmitter for Dynamic Microphones A: (516 to 558 MHz), B&H # SESKP100G4A: Key Features: 1680 Tunable Frequencies Across 42 MHz Pilot Tone Squelch 20 Banks with 12 Channel Presets Each Compander for Clearer Sound Auto-Lock Prevents Accidental Adjustment Plugs-On to Your Handheld Dynamic Mic Use with G4 Series Wireless Receivers

Q: 5. Can this product be tuned to 806-809 MHz for use when traveling to Japan?

A: The Sound Devices A20-Mini Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter and Recorder can transmit within the 806-809 MHz range, but B&H cannot advise on the legality of wireless frequency usage outside of North America. It would be recommended to check with the authorities in the location of your intended use, and to make sure that you are in compliance with all local regulations.

Q: 6. Will the Shure UA844+SWB UHF Wideband Antenna Distribution System work with this?

A: The Shure UA844+SWB UHF Wideband Antenna Distribution System (470 to 960 MHz) will only work when using three (3) to five (5) receivers from the Shure SLXD14D Dual-Channel Digital Wireless Bodypack System simultaneously with a pair of external antennas like the Shure UA874 Active Directional Antenna (B&H # SHUA874US).

Q: 7. Would it be possible to in any manner whatsoever to use the SLXD3 with the ULXD or QLXD wireless systems from Shure?

A: The Shure SLXD3 Digital Plug-On XLR Transmitter is unfortunately not compatible with ULXD or QLXD systems. ULXD and QLXD systems do have (limited) cross-compatibility, but SLXD systems are only compatible with SLXD components.

Q: 8. Does it come with rack mount hardware?

A: Yes, rack mount hardware is included for the receiver.

Q: 9. I believe that, in US, you can either record on the unit OR use as a transmitter, but not both at same time. Is that right? If so, why?

A: Simultaneous Record and Transmit mode is not available on A20-Mini units sold or operated in the United States of America. A different manufacturer owns the patent to the technology to do both at the same time.
