Tiffen Nd Filter (67mm, 1-stop)

Tiffen Nd Filter (67mm, 1-stop)
  • Product Code: ga785
  • Availability: In Stock

$49.50 $65.83

This 67mm Tiffen ND Filter is a solid ND filter with a filter factor of 2x that provides a 1-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.3 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Q: 1. does this fit the p series cokin holder which is 52 mm? Is there a higher stop nd filter up to 10 stops {like the lee big stop nd filter) in cokin, lee or tiffen that will fit my p series filter holder from cokin?

A: The Tiffen Cokin P Neutral Density (ND) 0.9 Glass Filter will fit in the Cokin P filter holder. All of the Cokin P filter holders are the same size, and accommodate any filter designed for the Cokin P system. We carry several 10-stop ND filters for the Cokin P filter holder. You can find those on the following link. http://bhpho.to/1f0KEmy

Q: 2. Is this filter made of glass or plastic?

A: It's glass and I love this filter.

Q: 3. What is the weight of this filter?

A: The manufacturer does not provide the exact weight of the filter, but the shipping weight (which includes the package) is 1.6 oz. The filter itself (without the packaging) would be approximately half of that -- 0.8 oz. (23 g).

Q: 4. does it have HT coating on lens?

A: This filter is not coated.

Q: 5. Is it soft-edge graduated?

A: Yes.

Q: 6. Is this filter multi coated?

A: This filter is not multi coated. Q: 7. Hi, I own a Canon 60D with the Canon EOS 18-135mm kit lens. I am wondering if this Tiffen ND filter fits my lens or not. If not, can you provide me a link of the right filter I am looking for? I need a 3x and a 6x (maybe even a 9x).Thanks-Gianluca

A: The Canon 18-135mm lens uses 67mm sized filters. This one in question is too large as it is a 77mm size. Below is a link to all of the 67mm sized ND filters we offer on our website. On the left hand side are search result filters you may select to result only ones which suit your criteria, which they do have a section to narrow down based on density.http://bhpho.to/1pBCrIB

Q: 8. I have a Polarizer filter , do I need a Graduated HD filter for high contrast photos?

A: The graduated HD filter is often used to mitigate bright sky against a darker landscape. I sometimes use it in other orientations to cut down bright areas of photo I am taking - imagine taking a photo of a dark building where the bright area has a vertical orientation on the left or right, or taking a photo through a door or similar portal. On the other hand, while a polarizer might provide some general overall brightness reduction, it is generally used to emphasize darker areas that are located at right angles to the light source (such as darkening sky against the clouds in a band 90 degrees from the sun), or to eliminate or reduce glare from reflected light - light reflected from smooth surfaces is highly polarized, light reflected from rough surfaces, such as the ocean, is rather scattered and the glare can be only minimally reduced by a polarizer. So the functions are different, and the graduated filter reduces the contrast (although I guess it could be used to exaggerate the contrast) whereas the polarizer is often used to enhance contrast.

Q: 9. Any discoloration with the filter?

A: It depends on your camera. If you can white balance with the filter applied to the lens then you should be fine. I've had no issues and in general I don't worry about IR pollution.

Q: 10. Will this filter fit the Canon 70-200 lens?

A: This filter will fit the f2.8 version of the 70-200 but is too big for the f4 version of the 70-200 lens.

Love this lens. I stepped up from a canon. Prime 50mm f/1.8 prime lens and this 1.4 lens is awesome. Autofocus is super responsive. I also bought an variable and filter which made my portraits really pop! I received my order as promised from B&H with no issues- as usual!!!

This is easy to screw on, and get used to. When you pick it up, it also feels nice. Not cheap and plastic-y.

Great filter, further levels up the Sigma 18-35mm when used with a GH4, GH5, GH6 for video. Must have, for that setup.

A neutral density filter is one of the must have filters for any photographer. I choose this one for the ability to adjust with out having to put on or take off different levels. Very convenient. I have had no issues with this filter and I love it.
