Q: 1. Will this work with Godox, Profoto, and other studio strobes? I've been waiting for Nissin to make an equivalent strobe like the Profoto B2 for more power than their current offering. So will this trigger studio strobes with TTL and most importantly HSS?

A: No it will not trigger your strobes with TTL or HSS. The Air R receiver is primarily made to work with Sony MIS flashes. In this case, it will support TTL and HSS with those flashes. The Air R receiver does have a PC out so you can trigger a studio strobe but that is all. You would have no control what so ever of the studio strobe.

Q: 2. I bought the Nissin Air commander kit (A. Comm. with the matched i700A flash. I have an older Nissin Di622 Mark II flash. Will this Air Receiver work with it? (The Di622) I'm shooting a Nikon system. Thanks!

A: I shoot Canon and it works perfectly for there flashes on a Sony system. I am positive they would work for Nikon flashes. The older flash I can not say because they are system dependent.

Q: 3. Hello. I have a basic manual flash which supports S1 and S2 modes. Can I use this receiver to sync with my Nissin i60A in HSS mode? I have the air 1 commander. Thank you.

A: Using the Manual flash on the Nissin Air receiver will not give you HSS in the S1 or S2 setting.

Q: 4. Will Sony flashes (HVL-F43AM via Adapter ADP-AMA, or HVL-F43M without adapter for example) work with Nissin Air R and Air Commander?

A: I don't know. I bought the Nissin for my Nikon system and could never get them to work so I sent them back. Look at Phottix or Godox (sold under many names) for my wireless trigge/commander for a better system. I ended up getting both and love them.

Q: 5. Is this receiver compatible with the Yongnuo 600rt flash (canon compatible) allowing me to use the x100f Fuji camera and trigger the Yongnuo with TTL capability? Thanks!

A: If this receiver is Canon compatible it will work with any Canon shoe flash.

Q: 6. Good day everyone - I recently bought 6 of these for my 2 Canon 600Ex-RT and my 4 Yongnuo 600Ex-RT II. The High Voltage light is flashing slow meaning an error on all the Yonguo flashes but works fine on the Canon. Can someone tell me if they are compatible? I thought I read they were but it is a lot of money if I cant get them to connect so will return them. Using the great customer service we expect from B&H. Many thanks

A: Well after testing these out they do work. What does not work properly is the High Power LED. On the Canon flash it stays lit as it is supposed to when the flash is turned on. On the Yongnuo it flashes every time I made a flash. To be honest I am never going to look at the LED after I turn the units on. I did do a firmware upgrade on the Yongnuo but that did not fix the error. Other than that they work great. Glad I tested it as I do not want another system. I am happy to keep them with this minor issue.

Q: 7. Can we use this receiver with Metz BL 400 studio flash and Sony a6000

A: This receiver can be connected to a Metz BL 400 monolight using the standard sync cord into the sync terminal of the receiver. You can then fire the flash using the Nissin Air 1 Commander for Sony Cameras with Multi Interface Shoe B&H # NINDA1S. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 8. Is this receiver compatible with the newer Sony HVL-F60M flash, which has the Mi shoe interface?

A: Yes, it does, but for it to work make sure the transmitter has the latest firmware for Sony

Q: 9. I have several Metz 64 ttl flashes for Sony. Would I be able to use the Nissin air R and a Nissin air transmitter to trigger my Metz 64 ttl flashes?

A: It should work according to Nissin as long as all of the flashes have the same multi-interface hotshoe.but only testing will tell.

Q: 10. Can this be used with an einstein strobe, and if so can i use hss? I have the nissin air commander and di700 flash and would like to use both together with shutter speeds 1/200.

A: No, Amy, it can't. The way Sony's HSS protocols work, the signal is transmitted via a TTL command that's only accessable from a MI compatible shoe. You will have to buy a transmitter made by your strobe manufacturer with a MI shoe.
