The PowerBox for Titan Tubes charges eight LED tubes simultaneously, although up to ten Titan Tubes can be connected to each PowerBox with a special power+data cable. The maximum cable length is 49'. The PowerBox has a powerCON True1 input and output and a 5-pin XLR input and output, while it also has an RJ45 port for Art-Net and sACN protocols whose signals it converts to DMX. Designed to be used on the floor or hung from a truss, it has a 3/8"-16 thread that can be removed to allow 1/2" clamps to be attached, as well as tapped holes for safety wires. The PowerBox comes with eight 14.6" charging cables.

Q: 1. Is the charger included? Seams silly to have a tru one cable but not the charger. The description is vague!

A: According to Astera, the FP1-PWB Charging Box is included with the Titan Tube Charging Case.

Q: 2. Can the tubes be controlled by the app only? Or is the AsteraBox CRMX Transmitter Box required to control the lights?

A: Yes. Controller is needed. Simple commands like ON/OFF, colors, preloaded effects etc can be sent with the infrared remote control directly to the lights. But when programming lights with the Astera App the IR remote can be used for confirming settings on individual lights.

Q: 3. Is it safe to use this charger with the AX1 tubes?

A: No. The following unit is designed and made for helios and titan tubes only.

Q: 4. Does the powerbox come with the charging case?

A: Yes, the Astera Set of 8 Titan Tubes with Charging Case comes with the charging case.

A: The Astera LunaBulb LED Bulb with Titan LED Engine does not run on an internal battery. it is AC only

Q: 9. Will this power/charge Godox TL60 RGB LED Tube Light 2.5'?

A: No, the Astera Charger for Titan or Helios LED Tube Light has different power requirements than the Godox TL60 RGB LED Tube Light (2.5') uses. This was not intended for the Godox so it may damage the light.

Q: 10. Does this work in both 50Hz and 60Hz countries? Would I just need a different cable to charge or run it off mains?

A: Yes, it will run in all countries. The cables are also the same, you just need a Powercon True1 cable with the correct plug for the country.

Though they are light and have much plastic in their construction, these Vello extension tubes are quite adequately engineered to work with Nikon cameras and lenses. They mount to my D7000 and D750 smoothly, without roughness or needing excessive force. The same goes for the lenses I use; 24-120, 70-200 and 200-500, plus a DX 16-85. The lens release tabs don’t inspire great confidence in their appearance, but I find that they do operate well. Macro work is sensitive to focus, so although these tubes transmit focus information from lens to camera, as well as exposure and VR, it is probably better to focus manually in some cases. For anyone on a budget and wanting to try macro-photography inexpensively, these tubes are a great way to do so before sinking many hundreds of dollars into a macro lens. 5

These Extension Tubes have done wonders for my macro photography photos! I did not have to spend 100's of dollars on a new lens to do close up photos!
