The 54.0 x 96.0" Tensioned Advantage Deluxe Electrol HDTV Format Motorized Projection Screen from Da-Lite is a ceiling recessed screen with an HD Progressive 1.1 Perf finish, 1.1 Gain rating, 85° viewing angle (L/R) and Greenguard certification for use indoors. The fire retardant, mildew-resistant finish delivers true color and uniform edge-to-edge image diffusion. The white finish has black backing material for opacity and is optimized for high resolution projectors. Tensioning on each side of the seamless fabric assures a flat, undistorted surface that eliminates any chance of a skewed image.

One of the major advantages of this screen is that the fabric roller can either be factory installed or at your chosen location after the ceiling recessed, UL Plenum rated extruded aluminum white housing has been roughed in. The enables you to finish the initial installation but choose your screen finish at a later date.

The screen includes two motors; one for the ceiling door and one for the fabric. The interior roller features a quick reversal motor, oiled for life, with automatic thermal overload cutout, integral gears, capacitor, and an electric brake to prevent coasting when the screen is stopped at a chosen length. The built-in Low Voltage Control controls up/down and stop functions using the included 12VDC three-position switch that can be wall mounted where convenient. It can also be operated from an optional radio frequency, infrared or auxiliary transmitter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the quality and compact size of prime lenses worth the loss of convenience compared to zooms?

A: The quality of this lens is definitely outstanding. But, I already owned several zoom lenses before I purchased this lens. I am a fan of the zoom for general usage.

Q: 2. Can I silkscreen translucent inks onto this substrate?

A: This is designed for inkjet printing. You would need to test it to see how it works with silkscreen translucent inks.

Q: 3. Does this lens work without electronic camera control? If I use a dummy mount adapter to EF, can I do manual focus and iris control? Or is the fstop only able to be adjusted by a camera that speaks to the lens?

A: The aperture on this lens would need to be controlled by the camera or an adapter with manual aperture control.

Q: 4. will it work as a full frame on the new Pentax k1?

A: The Pentax HD Pentax DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited Lens is designed for use on APS-C sensor cameras; however, many owners and users of the lens have often stated that they happily use this lens on their Pentax 35mm film cameras and the lens does cover the full image frame. As such, the lens should also work for use on the full-frame Pentax K-1 DSLR camera. (Do note this claim has only been made about the Pentax HD Pentax DA 40mm f/2.8 Limited Lens, and does not apply to other Pentax DA Limited lenses).

Q: 5. Is this lens brand new?

A: Yes, this is a brand-new lens.

Q: 6. Does this support resolution up to 4K?

A: Yes it does.

Q: 7. Would this lens work with the Pentax K1000 film slr?

A: Unfortunately Pentax HD Pentax DA 70mm f/2.4 Limited Lens (Silver) is not compatible with the Pentax K1000.

Q: 8. Would the DA 21mm be a good lens for my K-50? I need a wide angle lens, since I am starting to shoot some photos for my friends landscaping business.

A: HI Don, I've had this lens a couple years, on my K-7. I travel for work internationaly, and am an amatuer photog. I like landscapes and a wider field of view even in city streets. It's light, guite fast and compact and seems very durable, even in extreme polar regions. I'm very happy with my pics, but there is some distortion say in city skylines and some horizons, if you use the odd looking rectangular sunshade cover made for the lens seems to help with that alot. It is subject to sunflares from sides but I often just block with my hand. I'd say I'm quite happy with it, Its well made, and I take it everywhere, but again I'm not a pro. For photos of residential landscapes it should work well, but it's not inexpensive as you've probably seen, make sure you take it along to scenic places too if you buy it! Hope this was some help, dave

Q: 9. Will this unit output monitor all 16 analog channels simultaneously? What is the rotary selector for? Is it for only monitoring specific channels?

A: It will monitor all channels. To see the individual channels, use the rotary.

Q: 10. How is this different from the older DA version with green ring?

A: The lens coating has been updated from the older Pentax SMC to the current HD coating. The optical design of the lens is otherwise unchanged.

After reading the reviews for the non HD version, I was hoping the HD version would be even better. I can't directly compare this one with the older model but the top ratings are true. I was surprised how sharp it was at 2.4 but by F4 I was amazed. I generally shoot landscapes so I couldn't decide if i really needed this since it's more of a portrait lens. I bought it as like new and so it was already a good deal then @ had their prime sale and I couldn't resist. It arrived sealed in the original packaging so was shocked it really was more or less brand new.The bokeh is excellent, much better than any other lens in my bag. This is my first limited lens and it lives up to the hype. Colors and contrast just look different from my other lenses. As with most lenses, I would say this is sharpest from F4-F16. Beyond F16 it softens up again but nothing to complain about. You really only notice it if you look at 100%. This and the Pentax K-3 are a great combo. Would be interesting to compare the pictures to the soon to be here full frame and see if you can really see a difference. I guess I'll never know as the full frame is more than I need.

Ive had this lens for a long time, and its my main concert photo lens. Image quality is excellent, from sharpness to bokeh to contrast and color. Its unobtrusive, easy to move around, and the perfect focal length for portraits from a medium distance. Ive also used it for other applications such as telephoto landscapes, its easy to have in the bag thanks to its small size.

I like being brought a little closer with the 70mm. This lens also seem to deliver very good color and clarity.
Autofocus is fast and picture quality is quite good.

This lens is incredible. Mounted on a K-3, this lens is a killer, I used it mainly for portrait and close-up. At f/2.4 or even 2.8, the bokeh is wonderful and the details great. It is well build for a DA (actually a new HD DA type in Ricoh/Pentax arsenal). The only thing that can discourage people for buying this lens is this price. It is not a telezoom, not a SDM and not tropicalized but opens at f/2.4 constantly (very bright), slim for a 70mm and sold with a very discret hood (I really like it because very efficient). The only thing that decided me is the pictures taken with this lens. Once you see them, you want the lens. You won't regret it.

I bought this lens to use for portraits and took it to photograph a prom. The focus speed was good but not great. I was also using my Olympus E-3 with 12-60mm SWD and it was about 3/4 that speed or so, not bad at all. Indoors it seemed a little better compared to the E-3 so pretty darn good. Color rendition was outstanding, just beautiful. Indoors the colors were a little odd during the dance, lots of blue it seemed. That might have been caused by WB, not sure. Tried other WB settings but didn't seem to make a difference. Probably just the DJ's lights. Bokeh was smooth and not busy, very nice. Separation of background was fantastic, nice 3D type look. The only negative was the lens was a little long on my K20D so made for some problems in tight quarters, a 50mm would probably have been better in some situations. Lens envy is non-existent with this lens, if you are insecure about having the smallest lens around you might want to steer clear. This lens is REALLY small, but the pictures it makes are superb. Considering I was shooting at 2.4 and shooting moving objects I had few OOF images. If using for sports you would definitely want to stop down to f4 or so. When shooting still subjects it is spot on every time. This lens exudes quality and subdued design. It ain't flashy or gimmicky it is a precision tool. The retractable lens hood is a joy to use. How Pentax/Ricoh made it move smooth and stay put I don't know, nor how they made a tele that small! Probably the best lens I've ever shot. Happy with the purchase.

I bought this player a couple of days ago and I have been nothing but impressed. It's a basic player without smart features like Wifi and streaming capabilities but it works well. I have bunches and bunches of DVDs and wanted a good player after my DVD-VCR combo bit the dust after 20 years of service. I have loved Sony products and I have a few of them. They all are built with good quality. This DVD player is no different. I'm sure it will provide me with many years of enjoyment.
